The tools that keep a community orderly and safe on the new version's dedicated server.
Server name, password, player cap, world name, seed and game mode sit in one file that you edit in the file manager or over SFTP and apply with a restart.
default.json, the group files under groups, areas, the whitelist and blacklist.txt in the permissions folder decide who can do what, and where.
Plugins are copied into the Plugins folder and run only on the server, so players never have to install anything on their own machines.
RCON_Enabled, RCON_Password and RCON_Port open a remote console, and the server's built-in task scheduler runs recurring jobs for you.
A clean install needs about 600 MB, but the world grows with every build and long-running servers pile up data. NVMe keeps up with that growth.

Rising World Unity hosting at TheCrewHost gives you a dedicated server for the current version of JIW-Games' voxel sandbox from ₺345.00 (about $8.63) per month, installed automatically on Ryzen 9 9950X hardware with NVMe storage in İstanbul. Since 31 January 2025 this Unity rebuild has been the default Rising World on Steam, and it is the version that receives new content. Your server is driven by server.properties: Server_Name, Server_MaxPlayers, World_Name, World_Seed and World_GameMode set up the world, while permission groups, area protection and the Java-based Plugin API take care of the community side.
The Unity version is Rising World rewritten from the ground up. It entered Early Access as a tech demo in December 2020, gained multiplayer with dedicated server support in 2021, received its own Plugin API in April 2023, and on 31 January 2025 replaced the Java edition as the default version on Steam. It is the version that receives new content today.
The game is built on randomly generated, fully modifiable voxel worlds: biomes and deep cave networks, seasons, feeding and taming animals, mounts and drivable boats, fishing, a day-night cycle and powerful building tools. Players can upload images from their own computer and place them in the world, which community servers use heavily for signs and galleries.
If you are starting a new community, want active development and plan to use the new Plugin API, this Unity server is the right product. If you have a world built in the Java edition, or your community relies on old Java-era plugins, choose our Rising World Java Legacy product instead; the two versions cannot connect to each other and store their worlds separately.
The Rising World community wiki suggests at least 1 to 2 GB of RAM for small servers and 4 to 8 GB for larger player counts. Because our plans for this product start at Silver, even the smallest tier's 6 GB leaves comfortable headroom for a small or mid-sized server.
What drives memory is the number of world regions held in memory at once. When players build together, the load stays low; once everyone heads off to explore a different end of the map, the surroundings of each player stay loaded separately. For a survival server with up to 12 players, Silver works well, and Gold suits 12 to 24 players with a few plugins. A busy public server with many plugins justifies Platinum, and a mature world meant to last for years makes a case for Diamond.
Emerald and Xtreme sit far above the wiki's 4 to 8 GB range for large servers, and most Rising World servers will not use those resources. On the disk side, a clean install is roughly 600 MB, but the world keeps growing as players build on it.
The server ships with an example file, server.example.properties, which becomes your server.properties, and every setting lives there. Start with Server_Name for the name shown in the list, Server_Password to restrict access and Server_MaxPlayers for the player cap. Server_Port must match the port allocated to your server; the query port needed for the server list is always one below it and uses TCP.
For the world, World_Name is the name of the world to load, and if no world with that name exists the server creates it. World_Seed lets you reproduce the same terrain. World_GameMode accepts Survival or Creative and applies only when a new world is created, so you cannot switch an existing world's mode with this line; plan it before the first start.
For remote management, use RCON_Enabled, RCON_Password and RCON_Port; the RCON password needs at least six characters. Permissions_DefaultNewPlayerPermissionGroup sets which permission group a first-time player lands in. server.properties also supports an image and a description for the server list, and a good description attracts the right players.
Rising World's permission system lives in the permissions directory inside the server folder. default.json holds the baseline permissions for every player, files in the groups folder define admin and your own groups, and the areas folder stores the permissions for protected areas. Group names are case-sensitive and cannot contain spaces. To move a player into a group, run setplayergroup, or spg for short, in the console with the player's name or ID and the group name.
The whitelist file in the same directory admits only listed players, while blacklist.txt keeps unwanted players out. Permission files are JSON, and you decide item by item what is allowed under headings such as area, blueprint, command, creative and world. Area protection is the cleanest way to shield a spawn town or community buildings from griefers with pickaxes.
Plugins are written in Java and copied into the Plugins folder, each in its own subfolder. They run server-side, so players do not need to install anything. Only plugins written for the new Plugin API work here; plugins from the Java-edition era will not load on this server.
Players open the multiplayer menu in the current Steam version of Rising World and click your server in the browser to connect. For the server to appear in the list, its query port, one below the game port, must be reachable, so check the ports allocated in your panel. Anyone who cannot find it in the list can use the connect command in the console with the IP and port. If you set Server_Password, players are prompted for it on join.
Clients and the server have to be on the same game version. Rising World still receives regular updates, so after a major patch make sure your server has moved to the current build too; our support team will help if you get stuck.
With the server in İstanbul, players connecting from Türkiye feel less delay while placing blocks, digging and riding mounts. Preparing a short first-day announcement that covers the spawn area, the rules and the permission groups goes a long way toward a server that grows in an orderly way.
Silver is a good start for a survival server with up to 12 players, and Gold for 12 to 24 players running a few plugins.
After payment, the Unity build of the Rising World dedicated server installs itself; follow the first start in the gamepanel.hostingmerkezi.net console.
Fill in Server_Name, Server_Password, Server_MaxPlayers, World_Name, World_Seed and World_GameMode, remembering the game mode applies only to a new world.
Once the server is up, run spg in the console with your name and the admin group, then adjust the default group permissions.
Upload plugins made for the new Plugin API, each with its folder, into the Plugins directory over SFTP and restart the server.
Find your server in the browser or share the IP and port, and let players join straight from the multiplayer menu.
