Whichever CPU family you pick, every VPS sits on the same foundation: KVM isolation, NVMe storage, full admin rights and a protected network.
Run tick-sensitive game servers and snappy web backends on Ryzen 9 9950X, or save money with Xeon E5-2699 v4 and E5-2697 v2 plans for parallel, lightweight workloads.
Each VPS is a full virtual machine running its own kernel. The vCPU, RAM and disk on your plan are not shared with other customers, and tools like Docker and WireGuard install without workarounds.
SSH in as root on Linux or connect over RDP as Administrator on Windows Server. Packages, services, firewall rules and cron jobs are entirely your call.
Every plan runs on NVMe SSD storage and connects through a 1 Gbps port, giving database writes, package installs and large file transfers fast disks and plenty of headroom.
DDoS protection comes with every VPS at no extra charge, so you never need to buy a separate mitigation add-on for your game server, bot or website.
Our Turkish support team is available around the clock via tickets, live chat, WhatsApp, Discord and phone whenever you hit a network, access or provisioning problem.
TheCrewHost VPS hosting gives you a KVM virtual server in our Istanbul data center with its own reserved vCPU, RAM and NVMe SSD, starting at $1.00 per month (₺40.00). You choose between three CPU families: the current-generation AMD Ryzen 9 9950X for single-thread-heavy work like game servers, the many-core Intel Xeon E5-2699 v4, and the Intel Xeon E5-2697 v2 as the lowest-cost way in. Across 29 plans, memory ranges from 1 GB to 64 GB. Install Ubuntu, Debian, AlmaLinux, CentOS or Windows Server, log in as root over SSH or as Administrator over RDP, and run whatever your project needs: game panels, Discord bots, web apps, databases, a private VPN or a staging box. Every plan includes a 1 Gbps port and free DDoS protection.
A VPS (virtual private server) is an independent virtual machine carved out of a physical host, with its own operating system and its own slice of hardware. Some providers call the same thing a VDS, or virtual dedicated server, to stress that the resources are reserved for you rather than pooled.
Our VPS plans run on KVM (Kernel-based Virtual Machine), which is full hardware virtualization. Your server boots its own Linux kernel or its own Windows Server installation, so you can load kernel modules, run Docker, set up WireGuard and write your own nftables rules without the restrictions you would hit on container-based virtual servers.
“Dedicated resources” means the vCPU count, memory and NVMe disk space listed on your plan are allocated to your virtual machine and are not shared with other customers. In practice that makes performance far more predictable: you plan capacity by reading your plan's hardware, not by guessing how busy the rest of the physical machine happens to be.
The “Core” figure on each plan card is the number of vCPUs assigned to your VPS. Once you log in, nproc or lscpu shows the CPU count, free -h shows memory and df -h shows disk space, so you can verify all of it yourself.
Pick Ryzen 9 9950X when per-core speed matters, and one of the Xeon families when you want lots of cores cheaply or simply the lowest price.
The AMD Ryzen 9 9950X is a 2024 Zen 5 processor with 16 cores, 32 threads and boost clocks of up to 5.7 GHz, and plans in this family use DDR5 memory. Many game servers, Minecraft being the classic example, run their main game loop on a single thread, so a fast core translates directly into steadier tick rates. PHP requests, Node.js apps and code compilation benefit the same way.
The Intel Xeon E5-2699 v4 is a 22-core, 44-thread Broadwell-EP server chip from 2016 with turbo up to 3.6 GHz and DDR4 memory. Its per-core speed trails Zen 5 by a wide margin, but plans with 8 and 24 vCPUs make it a cost-effective home for parallel work: CI runners, container stacks, queue workers and batch jobs.
The Intel Xeon E5-2697 v2 is a 12-core, 24-thread Ivy Bridge-EP processor from 2013, and it carries the lowest-priced plans on the list. It is a sensible pick for a VPN, a DNS resolver, small bots or a test environment. This generation lacks AVX2, so software built to require AVX2 will not run on it; if that applies to you, choose one of the newer families.
Let your software decide: if it runs on Linux, use Linux; if it needs Windows or you want a remote desktop, choose Windows Server.
On the Linux side you can install Ubuntu, Debian, AlmaLinux or CentOS and connect over SSH (port 22 by default) as root. Linux uses less RAM and disk, and it is the native home of most web servers, databases, Docker, game panels and bots. Ubuntu and Debian are the easiest starting points thanks to huge package archives and documentation; AlmaLinux suits anyone who wants a RHEL-compatible environment.
A Windows VPS runs Windows Server, and you log in through Remote Desktop (RDP, port 3389 by default) as Administrator. It makes sense for .NET Framework apps, game servers that only ship a Windows build, desktop automation tools and browser sessions that need to stay open around the clock. Windows is heavier, though: Microsoft lists 32 GB of disk as the minimum for Windows Server, and in practice you will want 4 GB of RAM or more for a comfortable desktop experience. That rules out the 20 GB entry plans for Windows.
Whichever you choose, harden access on day one. On Linux, switch to SSH keys and disable password logins for root. On Windows, set a strong password and restrict the RDP port to your own IP address in the firewall.
Anything you can install with root access that complies with our terms of service. A VPS is not locked to any particular software; these are the workloads we see most often.
Game panels and game servers. Install a panel such as Pterodactyl and run several game servers side by side on one VPS. If you only need a single game with a ready-made panel and automatic setup, our game server plans are simpler; a VPS wins when you want multiple servers, custom software or complete control of the config.
Bots and automation. Keep Discord, Telegram or trading bots online 24/7 under systemd or a process manager like pm2.
Web apps and APIs. Laravel, Django, Node.js or Next.js behind Nginx or Apache, with free certificates from Let's Encrypt.
Databases. MySQL, MariaDB, PostgreSQL, Redis or MongoDB all benefit from NVMe storage and reserved memory.
VPN and network services. Run your own WireGuard or OpenVPN server, plus DNS, proxies or monitoring tools.
Development and testing. Staging environments, CI/CD runners, Docker Compose stacks and throwaway experiments on an isolated machine that cannot break production.
You can combine several of these on one plan, as long as you size RAM and CPU for the total load.
Size RAM first, then choose the CPU family and core count, then storage, because memory is what most projects run out of first.
RAM: Leave room for the operating system (a minimal Linux install needs only a few hundred megabytes, while Windows Server with the desktop experience uses a few gigabytes), then add up what each service needs. One small bot or a personal VPN is fine on 1 to 2 GB. A WordPress site with a database and object cache is comfortable at 4 GB. Modded game servers and large databases start at 8 to 16 GB.
CPU: Game servers, PHP and other single-threaded code care more about per-core speed than core count, and that is where the Ryzen family shines. If you will run many independent jobs at once, such as builds, containers or queue workers, the higher-vCPU Xeon plans give you a better price per core.
Disk: Budget for the OS, application files, logs and any local backups. 20 GB is enough for a small Linux project; aim for 60 GB or more for Windows Server, big game worlds or media files.
Not sure? Start small and watch the server for a week with htop, free -h and df -h. If memory stays full and the system starts swapping, or the CPU sits near 100 percent, it is time for the next plan up.
It comes down to how much control and how much capacity you need: shared hosting is a managed, ready-made environment, a VPS is a full virtual machine with reserved resources, and our Dedicated Server line offers the largest resource packages we sell.
Shared web hosting is managed through cPanel and built around PHP and MySQL. SSL, email accounts, daily automatic backups and one-click WordPress installs are ready out of the box, but you cannot touch the server software, and the environment is not designed for long-running processes such as a game server or a custom background daemon. For a blog, a company site or a small online store, it is the lowest-effort option.
On a VPS, every decision from the operating system to the firewall is yours. It is the right tool for game panels, bots, services on custom ports, Docker or Windows applications. The trade-off is responsibility: updates, security and backups are yours too.
Our Dedicated Server line is bare metal with two Intel Xeon E5-2697 v2 CPUs (24 cores / 48 threads), 32 to 256 GB of DDR3 RAM, 1 to 8 TB of NVMe storage and unlimited traffic. When a VPS hits its RAM or disk ceiling, for example with a large database, your own hypervisor or many services on one machine, that line is the natural next step; for work that depends on single-core speed, the Ryzen 9 9950X VPS remains the better fit.
Your server lives in our Istanbul data center, which means low latency for users in Turkey and generally good reach into Europe, the Middle East and the Caucasus. Every VPS connects through a 1 Gbps port, and the plan list shows traffic as unlimited.
NVMe SSDs deliver far higher IOPS and lower latency than SATA-based drives. You will notice the difference most in database writes, package installs and applications that read lots of small files.
Free DDoS protection covers every plan, but the security of the server itself is in your hands. Here is what we recommend on day one.
Update the system (apt update && apt upgrade, dnf upgrade, or Windows Update). Log in with SSH keys instead of passwords and turn off password logins for root. Open only the ports you actually need in ufw, firewalld or Windows Defender Firewall. Add fail2ban or a similar tool to slow down brute-force attempts. Back up to storage outside the server on a schedule; restic, borg and rsync are all popular choices. Finally, set up lightweight monitoring such as Netdata or Uptime Kuma so you spot problems before your users do.
Compare the Ryzen 9 9950X, Xeon E5-2699 v4 and Xeon E5-2697 v2 plans in the pricing table and choose one based on the RAM and disk your project needs.
Select Ubuntu, Debian, AlmaLinux, CentOS or Windows Server when you order. For Windows, pick a plan with at least 40 GB of disk and 4 GB of RAM.
Finish checkout at my.thecrewhost.com. Once payment is confirmed, provisioning begins and you can follow the order status from the same client area.
When the server is ready you receive its IP address plus root or Administrator credentials. Connect with ssh root@your-ip on Linux or Remote Desktop on Windows.
Install updates, switch to SSH keys or set a strong RDP password, and leave only the ports you actually use open in the firewall.
Install your game panel, bot, web stack or database, point your domain's DNS records at the server's IP address and schedule off-server backups.
Our İstanbul datacenter runs on Ryzen 9 hardware, delivering low latency to players in Türkiye and good connectivity to Europe, the Middle East and the Caucasus.
