Why TheCrewHost for Arma Reforger?

Plans built around the fact that a Reforger server on the Enfusion engine is run from one JSON file.

Full config.json Control

name, password, passwordAdmin, scenarioId and maxPlayers in the game section; view distances and third-person camera under gameProperties. Edit all of it in the panel file manager.

Mods That Download Themselves

Add a mod to the mods array with its modId, name and version, and the server pulls it from the Arma Reforger Workshop at startup. Players get missing mods automatically when joining.

-maxFPS for CPU Balance

Left uncapped, a Reforger server can saturate several cores under load. Setting a ceiling with the -maxFPS startup parameter keeps resource use in balance.

BattlEye and DDoS Protection

The battlEye key under gameProperties enables anti-cheat and requires it from every player. Free DDoS protection guards the server against network attacks.

Ryzen 9 9950X, Many Cores

The Reforger server spreads work across several cores during busy Conflict matches. Emerald's 6 and Xtreme's 12 vCores make a real difference in crowded, AI-heavy scenarios.

Help Whenever You Need It

Arma Reforger server hosting at TheCrewHost starts at ₺440.00 ($11.00) per month on Gold 8GB, which meets Reforger's 8 GB floor with 8 GB of DDR5 RAM, Ryzen 9 9950X cores and NVMe SSD. You get full access to config.json, the single file that drives the whole server: scenario ID, player cap, view distances and your Workshop mod list all live there, and the server downloads listed mods by itself at startup. The İstanbul location gives players in Türkiye a short route in, and free DDoS protection and automatic backups are standard on every plan.

What can you play on an Arma Reforger server?

An Arma Reforger server can run Bohemia's own scenarios or community scenarios from the Workshop. The most popular mode is Conflict: two sides capture bases, haul supplies and push the front line across the island of Everon. Game Master lets one player place AI, vehicles and objectives in real time, which is why milsim units favor it for operations. Co-op scenarios such as Combat Ops are part of the official package too.

Which scenario loads is set by scenarioId in config.json. The default ID ends in Missions/23_Campaign.conf and starts Conflict on Everon. Launch the server with the -listScenarios parameter and it prints valid scenario IDs to the console; for scenarios that come from mods, you can also find the ID in the gameId field of the mod's ServerData.json file.

One of Reforger's strengths is shared play with console players. The crossPlatform setting in config.json lets console players join your server, so friends on PC and console can meet in the same Conflict match.

How much memory and CPU does an Arma Reforger server need?

8 GB is the practical floor for an Arma Reforger server, which is why our plans start at Gold 8GB. A vanilla Conflict or Game Master server runs comfortably there. What grows memory needs is the mod list: vehicle, weapon and terrain mods eat into both RAM and disk quickly, so factor your mod plans into the plan you pick.

In Reforger the CPU matters at least as much as memory, and unlike older Arma servers it can use several cores. A server with no FPS cap can fully load multiple cores under pressure. Setting a sensible ceiling with -maxFPS keeps it from burning CPU for nothing and makes frame pacing more consistent.

For crowded Conflict matches and AI-heavy scenarios, the 6 vCores of Emerald 16GB and the 12 vCores of Xtreme 32GB offer real headroom. The -logStats parameter logs server FPS at intervals, so you can see when an upgrade is due.

How do you add Workshop mods to an Arma Reforger server?

Reforger mods come from Bohemia's own Arma Reforger Workshop rather than the Steam Workshop, and you add them through the mods array in config.json. Each mod gets a block in curly braces: modId is its ID, name its name and version its release. You can read the ID from the address of the mod's Workshop page, or from ServerData.json in the addons folder if the mod is installed on your own PC.

At startup the server downloads and loads the listed mods on its own, so you never copy mod files by hand. Players who join a modded server get any missing mods downloaded to their client automatically. If you pin a mod to a specific version, you may need to update the version value when the mod updates, or players arriving with a different release will run into trouble.

Watch the JSON syntax: blocks need a comma between them but none after the last one. Back up config.json before editing, since one wrong character keeps the server from starting and the console will point to where it failed.

Which config.json settings matter?

At the top, bindAddress, bindPort, publicAddress and publicPort define the server's network identity; Reforger's default game port is 2001, and your assigned port is shown in the panel. The optional a2s block handles Steam queries, and the rcon block, with its own port and password, lets remote admin tools connect.

In the game section, name is the server browser title, password the join password and passwordAdmin the admin password, while the admins list holds your trusted players. maxPlayers sets the slot count, and visible decides whether the server shows up in the browser.

The gameProperties settings affect both gameplay and performance. serverMaxViewDistance and networkViewDistance control how far the server simulates and how distant the entities it sends to players can be, and lowering them reduces load. serverMinGrassDistance sets grass render distance, disableThirdPerson turns off the third-person camera and battlEye enables anti-cheat. VONDisableUI and VONDisableDirectSpeechUI hide the voice chat interfaces, a popular choice for realism-focused units.

How do players join your Arma Reforger server?

Players join by searching your server name in Reforger's in-game server browser; as long as visible is true, your server is listed. A password, if you set one, is requested during the join. On a modded server, missing mods download from the Workshop during the join, so nobody has to hunt mods down one by one. Just warn people that the first join can take a little longer.

Tags such as TR, Conflict, Milsim or PvE in the server name help the right crowd find you among dozens of servers. If you are inviting console players, remember to enable crossPlatform.

With the server hosted in İstanbul, players in Türkiye join firefights with low latency, and those coming from Europe, the Middle East and the Caucasus generally get a good connection too. Fill passwordAdmin with a strong password so admins can claim their rights in chat with #login.

How to Set Up a Arma Reforger Server

  1. 1

Pick a plan for your player count and mods

Gold 8GB covers vanilla Conflict or Game Master. If you plan a long mod list or 64-player matches, start on Diamond, Emerald or Xtreme.

  2. 2

Open the panel after automatic setup

Your Arma Reforger server installs automatically once payment clears. The console, file manager, backups and power controls are ready at gamepanel.hostingmerkezi.net.

  3. 3

    Edit config.json

Stop the server and set name, password, passwordAdmin, maxPlayers and scenarioId. Check the view distances and the battlEye setting under gameProperties.

  4. 4

    Add your mod list

Write a block with modId, name and version for each mod in the mods array. For a mod scenario, replace scenarioId with that mod's gameId.

  5. 5

Start the server and watch the console

Start the server and follow the mod downloads and scenario load in the console. If something breaks, the console usually names the problem mod or JSON line.

  6. 6

    Invite your players

Share the server name so players can find it in the browser. Back up your working config.json and keep an eye on server FPS with -logStats during the first match.

Frequently Asked Questions

Short answers to what people ask most before launching an Arma Reforger server.

How much does an Arma Reforger server cost?
Arma Reforger plans start at ₺440.00 ($11.00) per month with Gold 8GB, which meets Reforger's 8 GB floor. There are 5 plans from 8 GB to 32 GB. Each includes Ryzen 9 9950X, NVMe SSD, free DDoS protection, automatic backups and 24/7 support.
Which plan should I choose for Arma Reforger?
Gold 8GB is enough for a vanilla or lightly modded Conflict or Game Master server. As your mod list grows, Platinum 10GB and Diamond 12GB are more comfortable. For 64 or more players and AI-heavy scenarios the CPU becomes decisive, so we recommend Emerald 16GB with 6 vCores or Xtreme 32GB with 12 vCores.
How do I install Workshop mods on a Reforger server?
Add a block with modId, name and version for each mod to the mods array in config.json. At startup the server downloads those mods from the Arma Reforger Workshop on its own. You can find a mod's ID in its Workshop page address or in the mod's ServerData.json file.
How long does Reforger server setup take?
The server files install automatically once your payment is confirmed. After that, set the server name, passwords and scenario in config.json and start it. With a long mod list, the first start takes longer than later ones because the mods are downloaded then.
How do players connect?
They search your server name in the in-game server browser and join; your server is listed as long as visible is true. If there is a password, they enter it. On modded servers, missing mods download automatically during the join. Console players can only join if crossPlatform is enabled.
Where do I find a scenario ID?
Start the server with the -listScenarios parameter and it prints valid scenario IDs to the console. The default ID, which ends in Missions/23_Campaign.conf, loads Conflict on Everon; swap it to change what the server runs. For a scenario that comes from a mod, look for the gameId field in that mod's ServerData.json file.
Why does -maxFPS matter?
Without an FPS cap, a Reforger server can fully load several cores under pressure. A sensible ceiling set with -maxFPS prevents wasted CPU and makes performance more predictable. Logging server FPS with -logStats shows whether your cap suits the kind of matches you run.
How are server backups handled?
Automatic backups are part of every plan, and you can also back up manually from the panel. The most important Reforger file is config.json, since your mod list, scenario and every setting live there. Backing it up before you change mods or scenarios makes a bad edit easy to undo.
Is my Reforger server protected against DDoS attacks?
Yes, all plans come with free DDoS protection. Busy Conflict servers can be an easy target for rival communities or frustrated players. Filtering happens before attack traffic ever reaches your server, and there is no additional fee.
Can I upgrade my Reforger plan?
Yes, upgrading to a bigger plan is possible at any time. When your player count rises, your mod list grows or -logStats shows server FPS dropping, stepping up a plan is the quickest fix.
