Compare recommended use, plan hardware and monthly prices.
| Plan | Recommended for | Hardware | Monthly price |
|---|---|---|---|
| Bronze 4GB | Recommended: one rink, 12 slots, modsThe default 12-player config and Workshop mods fit easily; CPU speed matters more than RAM. | 4 vCore Ryzen 9950X · 4 GB DDR5 6000MHz · 50 GB NVMe SSD Samsung 990 PRO | ₺240.00/mo |
| Silver 6GB | Heavy server-side mods or pluginsExtra headroom for mods that add server logic or a tickRate above 100. | 4 vCore Ryzen 9950X · 6 GB DDR5 6000MHz · 60 GB NVMe SSD Samsung 990 PRO | ₺345.00/mo |
| Gold 8GB | Rarely needed for PuckOne rink will not use this memory; consider it only for unusual plugin workloads. | 4 vCore Ryzen 9950X · 8 GB DDR5 6000MHz · 70 GB NVMe SSD Samsung 990 PRO | ₺440.00/mo |
| Platinum 10GB | Not recommended for PuckSame 4 vCores as Bronze; more RAM does not speed up the physics tick. | 4 vCore Ryzen 9950X · 10 GB DDR5 6000MHz · 100 GB NVMe SSD Samsung 990 PRO | ₺530.00/mo |
| Diamond 12GB | Not recommended for PuckThe memory sits idle; a lower tier gives the same feel on the ice. | 4 vCore Ryzen 9950X · 12 GB DDR5 6000MHz · 110 GB NVMe SSD Samsung 990 PRO | ₺617.50/mo |
| Emerald 16GB | Beyond a hockey server's needsOne rink's simulation leans on a single fast core, so 6 vCores add little. | 6 vCore Ryzen 9950X · 16 GB DDR5 6000MHz · 120 GB NVMe SSD Samsung 990 PRO | ₺840.00/mo |
| Xtreme 32GB | Unnecessary for Puck32 GB and 12 vCores are far more than any Puck rink can use. | 12 vCore Ryzen 9950X · 32 GB DDR5 6000MHz · 200 GB NVMe SSD Samsung 990 PRO | ₺1520.00/mo |
What a physics hockey server actually depends on: a steady simulation, flexible rules and simple moderation.
Puck ships with tickRate 100 and targetFrameRate 120. The Ryzen 9 9950X's strong single-core speed keeps puck, stick and body physics on schedule during scrambles in front of the net.
phaseDurationMap sets Warmup, FaceOff, Playing, Replay, PeriodOver and GameOver in seconds, so pickup nights and league games can run on different clocks.
The mods list in your config marks each Workshop ID as server or client; players fetch the client mods automatically when they join, with no manual installs.
Accounts in adminSteamIds get /pause, /resume, /kick, /ban, /bansteamid and /unbansteamid, and admins cannot be vote-kicked from their own server.
Competitive public rinks attract the occasional sore loser. Free DDoS protection on every plan filters attack traffic before it reaches your game server.

Puck server hosting at TheCrewHost gives you an always-on dedicated rink from ₺240.00 (about $6.00) per month, installed automatically on Ryzen 9 9950X hardware with NVMe storage in İstanbul. Puck is NS7's free, physics-driven hockey game: every pass, shot and body check is simulated on the server, so the tick rate is what players actually feel on the ice. Everything lives in server_configuration.json, from slots, password and admin SteamIDs to tickRate and the length of each game phase, warmup through post-goal replay. You can list Steam Workshop mods in the same file, and connecting players download them automatically.
Your own server means you decide the rules, the schedule and who gets in. Puck's ELO-based ranked matchmaking, added in May 2026, is fine for random games, but leagues, team practices, scrims and a friend group's weeknight games need a rink that comes up with the same name, password and settings every time.
In the July 2026 update, the servers you could launch from inside the game were renamed Cloud Servers and made Patreon-gated. A dedicated server you rent runs on the free Puck Dedicated Server tool and has nothing to do with that system: it does not shut down when the last player leaves, and its configuration survives every restart.
The admin list, ban list, mod set and period lengths are all yours to define. Because the machine sits in İstanbul, players connecting from Türkiye and nearby regions take a short network path to it, which helps passes and one-timers feel consistent in a game built on precise stick control. One address becomes your team's home ice, and match nights follow your calendar rather than whatever lobby happens to be open.
A single Puck rink is light on memory; the work happens on the CPU. The default configuration runs at tickRate 100, meaning the server resolves puck, stick and player-body collisions a hundred times per second. The Ryzen 9 9950X's high single-core speed keeps that loop on time even when six bodies pile into the crease.
The Bronze plan's 4 GB easily holds the default 12-slot setup plus a handful of Workshop mods. Raising tickRate can make the game feel a touch smoother, but it adds CPU load and increases the bandwidth every client consumes. The August 2026 Rewired update cut server-to-client traffic in half, which gives you more room than before, yet we still suggest raising the value in small steps and listening to your players after each change.
If you plan heavy server-side mods or plugins that add their own logic, Silver leaves sensible headroom. Tiers above that add memory a single hockey simulation will never touch, and the plan guide below says so plainly, so there is no reason to overbuy.
Puck reads its behaviour from server_configuration.json in the server's root folder, which you edit in the panel's file manager or over SFTP. The port and pingPort values must match the ports allocated to your server: the first carries game traffic, the second answers ping queries from the server browser.
name is what the server list shows, maxPlayers sets the slot count and password locks the rink. Setting isPublic to false takes the server off the public list, and voip switches voice chat on or off. Every SteamID64 you put in the adminSteamIds array becomes an admin, while usePuckBannedSteamIds decides whether the game's central ban list applies on your server too.
phaseDurationMap sets the rhythm of a match in seconds; in the default file, Warmup is 600, Playing 300, Replay 10, and PeriodOver and GameOver 15 each. On league night you might shorten warmup, lengthen play and speed up the goal replay. Since July 2026, some newer features can also be switched off per server in public_game_mode_config.json. A single missing comma in JSON stops the server from starting, so read the file over before you save it.
Build 202 moved Puck's scripting backend to Mono and introduced official mod support, letting mods inject their own .dll files with full access to the game's internals. On the server, you manage this through the mods parameter in server_configuration.json, marking each Workshop ID as a server-side or client-side mod.
Server mods can change the game loop, the physics and the available server commands. Client mods are pushed to everyone who connects: the required mods download and install without restarting the game, and the connection completes on its own. When a player leaves, those mods are disabled but stay cached for next time. Recent builds hold arriving players at a Server is still starting message until the server has finished downloading its own mods.
For a private add-on you do not want on the Workshop, Puck supports plugins, which you upload over SFTP. Since Build 202, Puck expects the Linux server to be launched through start_server.sh so it can reach the Steam API; if Workshop mods refuse to load, that launch line is the first thing to check, and our support team can review it with you.
With isPublic set to true, your server appears by name in the in-game browser. The list sorts by player count by default and can filter out full, empty or high-ping servers, so pick a name your team will recognise at a glance. If you set a password, players type it when they connect.
For direct links, Puck supports Steam URL launches: an address in the form steam://run/2994020//+ipAddress IP +port PORT +password PASSWORD/ opens the game and drops the player straight onto your rink, and it works even when the game is already running. Take the IP and port from your panel, build the link once and pin it in your Discord channel.
Because Puck is free on Steam, inviting someone new only requires a Steam account. Once the puck drops, warmups, intermissions and goal replays follow your phaseDurationMap, and an admin can /pause play for a line change dispute and /resume exactly where it stopped.
Bronze covers the default 12-player Puck server with a few Workshop mods; look at Silver only if you plan heavy server-side mods.
Setup starts on its own once payment clears; when the gamepanel.hostingmerkezi.net console shows the server opening its UDP socket, the rink is ready.
In the file manager, set name, maxPlayers, password and phaseDurationMap, and keep port and pingPort identical to the ports shown in your panel.
Put your SteamID64 in adminSteamIds, add Workshop IDs to the mods parameter if you want them, then restart the server.
Find the server in the browser, or build a steam://run/2994020 link with IP, port and password and pin it in your team's Discord.
