The tools you need, from a weekly cup night to a Time Attack server that never closes.
Define the map list, starting map, game mode script and mode settings such as S_TimeLimit, S_WarmUpNb and S_PointsLimit in a single file.
Create a room from your club's administration section and pick your dedicated server; members enter from the club menu while you run the server.
Controllers such as EvoSC, PyPlanet and ManiaControl connect over XML-RPC, adding records, votes, map queues and admin commands on top of the server.
SuperAdmin, Admin and User passwords grant separate rights, while the guest list and black list manage invited and banned players at file level.
Your Map.Gbx files, MatchSettings lists and automatically saved replays sit on fast NVMe storage and are included in automatic backups.

TheCrewHost hosts Trackmania dedicated servers from ₺240.00 per month ($6.00), running Nadeo's TrackmaniaServer around the clock on Ryzen 9 9950X hardware in Istanbul. This page covers the current, free-to-play Trackmania released in 2020, not Nations Forever or the ManiaPlanet titles. A MatchSettings file sets your map list and game mode, such as Time Attack, Rounds, Cup or Knockout, while dedicated_cfg controls player and spectator limits, passwords and permission levels. Players join through a join link or through a room in your club that you bind to this server.
This page is for the current Trackmania that Nadeo released in 2020 and that anyone can play for free. The server runs TrackmaniaServer, the software Nadeo distributes for it. Trackmania Nations Forever, United Forever and the Trackmania² games of the ManiaPlanet era use different server builds and are not covered here.
Having your own server gives you flexibility the official Nadeo servers do not. You can run a 24/7 Time Attack server that cycles only the maps you pick for your community, host a weekly Cup or Knockout night, play team league matches in Teams mode, or open a long single-map session for practice.
The official modes include Time Attack, Rounds, Cup, Knockout, Laps, Teams and Champion, each with its own settings. If you want to go further, you can place your own mode script in the UserData/Scripts/Modes/Trackmania folder. Our Istanbul datacenter gives players from Türkiye and nearby regions a short route, and in a game where thousandths of a second decide rankings, that keeps rival cars and checkpoint times flowing more consistently.
A Trackmania server connects to Nadeo's master server with a dedicated server account. You create that account in the dedicated server section of the official Trackmania website: choose a server login without spaces, submit the form, and the page shows you a password. Write that password down straight away; if you lose it, you have to repeat the process.
The login and password go into the masterserver_account block of the dedicated_cfg file. Without them the server starts in LAN mode and players on the internet cannot see it, so if your server starts but nobody can connect, this is the first place to look. If the panel shows startup settings for these values, enter them there, because the panel may rewrite some fields in the file on every start.
In the same file you set the server name, player and spectator limits, player and spectator passwords, and the SuperAdmin, Admin and User permission passwords. Always change the default permission passwords; with XML-RPC enabled in particular, they hand over full control of the server. Callvote ratios, allowing map downloads and automatic replay saving are configured here too.
The MatchSettings file decides which maps rotate in which mode. These files live in the UserData/Maps/MatchSettings folder, and the server is told which one to load at startup. Each has three main parts. script_name under gameinfos picks the game mode, for example Trackmania/TM_TimeAttack_Online. The mode_script_settings block holds the mode's settings: S_TimeLimit for the time limit, S_WarmUpNb for the number of warm-ups, S_PointsLimit for the points target, S_ForceLapsNb to force a lap count, and so on. Finally, each map entry adds a Map.Gbx file from UserData/Maps to the list, and startindex says which map the list starts from.
You can build maps yourself or download them from Trackmania Exchange, the community map archive. Upload the files to UserData/Maps over SFTP or with the file manager, add them to MatchSettings and restart the server.
You can also bring your club's look onto the server: settings beginning with S_DecoImageUrl replace the images shown on checkpoints, screens and stands with your own URLs. Before a tournament, take a manual backup of your MatchSettings file in the panel, because one wrong line can break the whole map list.
TrackmaniaServer draws no graphics and is a light process, so the Bronze plan with 4 GB of memory is enough for a 24/7 Time Attack server or a weekly Cup night. The server spends CPU on its built-in anti-cheat coherence checks and on assembling network packets, and the worker thread count in dedicated_cfg sets how many threads it may use. The Ryzen 9 9950X's high single-thread speed helps here.
Silver leaves disk and memory headroom if you keep a very large map archive or save replays automatically and hold on to them. Gold and above exceed what this server really needs; extra RAM adds nothing to player count or smoothness.
One note on server controllers: EvoSC, PyPlanet and ManiaControl are separate programs that usually run alongside a database. Rather than squeezing them next to the game server, hosting them on a VDS and connecting them to your server over XML-RPC is a more flexible setup. That requires XML-RPC to accept outside connections, so talk to our support team about how to do it.
There are two common ways to reach a Trackmania server. The first is the join link. When the server starts, the console prints an address line beginning with uplay; from it you copy the part that starts with #join= and ends with @Trackmania. Players paste that text into the Join Link field under Settings, then System, in the game's main menu, press Enter and land on your server.
The second, permanent way is binding the server to your club. Open your club's administration section, create a new Room under Club Activities and choose the option to use a dedicated server. Enter a room name, select the server account you created from the drop-down list, and the room is ready; your members now reach the server from the club menu with one click.
For a closed event, set a player password and a separate one for spectators. If you work with an invite list, use the guest list file, and use the black list file for troublemakers. Pinning the join link or club room in your Discord before an event makes sure everyone is in the right place at start time.
TrackmaniaServer is light; 4 GB Bronze covers a 24/7 server and weekly tournaments. Look at Silver for a large archive and replay saving.
Pick a login without spaces in the dedicated server section of the official Trackmania website, and note the password it shows right away.
Enter the login and password under masterserver_account, then set the server name, player and spectator limits, passwords and permission passwords.
Put Map.Gbx files under UserData/Maps over SFTP, and define the game mode, mode settings and map list in your MatchSettings file.
Start from the panel and watch the console; if the server comes up in LAN mode, the login details are missing or wrong, so fix them and restart.
Give players the text beginning with #join from the console, or create a club room that uses a dedicated server and select yours.
