Everything the server side needs to build a shared world in BeamNG.drive.
Put the zip files of vehicle and map mods into Resources/Client; every player who connects downloads them automatically, with no separate install step.
Each folder under Resources/Server is a plugin. With BeamMP's Lua API you catch events and write chat commands, race logic or permission systems.
Server name, description, tags, map, player and car limits, the private option and chat logging all sit in one file you edit as you need.
Every new player pulls your mod pack from the server. Unlimited traffic and NVMe SSDs mean even large maps reach newcomers quickly.
With Private on, the server stays off the list and players join by IP; switch it off and you appear on the official server list with your name and tags.
Players stuck while joining, or a mod bringing the server down? Drop us a ticket, a Discord or WhatsApp message, a call or a live chat; someone is on duty 24/7.
TheCrewHost hosts BeamMP servers from ₺240.00 per month ($6.00), running BeamMP-Server around the clock on Ryzen 9 9950X hardware in Istanbul. BeamMP is the community project that brings multiplayer to BeamNG.drive: players roam the same map, race, run crash tests, stage police chases and demolition derbies. You enter the AuthKey from Keymaster, then set the map and the per-player car limit in ServerConfig.toml. Vehicle and map mods placed in Resources/Client download automatically to everyone who joins, and Lua plugins under Resources/Server let you run your own game modes and admin tools.
BeamMP is a community-made multiplayer mod for BeamNG.drive. It adds online multiplayer to the game: players start BeamNG.drive through the BeamMP launcher and connect to each other via a server. The server is the meeting point that carries each vehicle's position, speed and state between players.
BeamNG.drive's soft-body physics carry over into multiplayer, which is why server types vary so widely. On freeroam servers friends explore big maps together; drag and circuit servers host races; on derby servers the goal is to be the last car still moving. Cops-and-robbers chases, off-road convoys, truck logistics and roleplay servers written in Lua are common too.
What you rent here is BeamMP-Server, the software that hosts those worlds. You can open a password-protected server that stays off the list for your own friends, or build a public community server that appears on the official server list. Either way, the map, the mods and the rules are yours to decide.
All the core settings live in the [General] section of ServerConfig.toml. The first job is getting an AuthKey: sign in to the BeamMP Keymaster with your Discord account, create a new key under Keys and paste it into the AuthKey line. Keys are limited in number and one key works on only one running server at a time, so treat it like a password.
Name and Description are what the server list shows, and Tags is a comma-separated list that helps players find you through filters. With Private = true the server stays off the list and can only be joined by IP. MaxPlayers sets the player limit and MaxCars sets how many vehicles one player may have out at once. The Map line takes the form /levels/map_name/info.json; stock maps such as west_coast_usa, east_coast_usa, italy or gridmap_v2 need no install. LogChat writes chat to the console and log.
If the panel exposes a value as a startup setting, such as the server name, AuthKey or map, change it there, because the panel may rewrite those lines in the file on every boot. After any change, check that no ERROR or WARN messages remain in the console.
BeamMP uses two separate folders, and it pays not to mix them up. Resources/Client holds content that gets sent to players. Drop a vehicle mod's zip file in there and everyone who connects downloads it automatically. For a modded map, place its zip in the same folder, then take the map name written inside the archive's levels folder and enter it on the Map line as /levels/map_name/info.json. If you are unsure, load the map in single player and run print(getMissionFilename()) in the console to get the exact path.
Players getting stuck while joining usually point to an incompatible or broken mod; when that happens, remove the mods you added most recently one at a time until you find the culprit. For paid or restricted mods, the protectmod command in the server console requires each player to obtain the file themselves instead of the server distributing it.
Resources/Server is for server-side Lua plugins and is never sent to players. Each plugin sits in its own folder and uses BeamMP's Lua API to react to events such as a player connecting, a vehicle spawning or a chat message. Community-made admin and permission plugins go into this folder as well.
BeamMP-Server does not calculate physics. Vehicle physics run on each player's own PC, and the server relays that data between them. That is why the Bronze plan with 4 GB of memory comfortably handles most friend and community servers. Silver and Gold give disk and memory headroom if you keep a large mod archive or run many Lua plugins, and those plans also come with more NVMe space.
The real limit on player count is usually the players' computers, not the server. Every player simulates all vehicles on the map locally, so as you raise MaxPlayers and MaxCars, frame rates drop on weaker machines. On a busy server, keeping MaxCars at 1 or 2 means smoother play for everyone.
Do not forget bandwidth: every new player downloads the full contents of Resources/Client from your server. That makes the unlimited traffic on our plans especially valuable for BeamMP. Platinum and above, on the other hand, sit far beyond what this software really needs.
Players first install the BeamMP launcher; the game is started through it and the multiplayer menu appears. Servers with Private = false show up on the official server list. Players type the server name into the search box; if it does not appear, they switch off filters, set the map selection to Any and click Connect.
A private server is joined from the Direct Connect tab. You give players the server's IP address and port, and they enter those to connect. The server works over IPv4 only, so the address to share is the IPv4 address shown in your panel.
Connecting players first download the mods in Resources/Client. With a large map pack the first join can take a while, and later joins are faster. Our Istanbul datacenter gives players from Türkiye and nearby regions a short path to the server, and that is what keeps cars looking consistent when you drive side by side or collide.
Physics run on players' PCs, so 4 GB Bronze suits most servers. Look at Silver for a large mod archive and many Lua plugins.
Sign in to keymaster.beammp.com with Discord, create a new key under Keys and copy it; never share that key with anyone.
Enter the AuthKey, server name, description, tags, map, MaxPlayers and MaxCars; set Private to false if you want to appear on the list.
Put vehicle and map mod zips in this folder over SFTP; for a modded map, update the Map line with the name from the archive's levels folder.
Upload admin, racing or roleplay plugins into their own folders under Resources/Server, then restart the server from the panel.
Confirm there are no errors left; players join a public server from the list by name, or a private one via Direct Connect with your IPv4 address and port.
