Your own convoy on the US map: amtrucks_server runs around the clock, your state DLCs and mods ride along in the exported package, and a token keeps the search id fixed.

The server-side pieces you need to keep a US-map convoy running without interruption.
SCS ships a separate server application for ATS; it keeps the session alive after whoever opened the convoy logs off, so your crew can haul at different hours.
You never copy DLC or mod files to the server. Which states and mods are active is set by the server_packages.sii and .dat files you generate in your game.
Hiding other trucks in company yards, ghosting paused players, AI vehicle caps, name tags and the session password are all set inside server_config.sii.
Drivers listed in moderator_list become moderators the moment they connect, then pace the convoy from chat by changing the time of day and rain intensity.
Config and package files sit on fast NVMe disks and are part of the automatic backups, and you can take a manual one before adding a new state DLC.
Token rejected, or the server cannot see your packages? Tickets, Discord, WhatsApp, phone and live chat all reach our support team, whatever the hour.
TheCrewHost hosts the official American Truck Simulator dedicated server for Convoy from ₺240.00 per month ($6.00). It runs SCS's amtrucks_server on Ryzen 9 9950X hardware in Istanbul and keeps your US-map session open even when nobody is logged in. Which state DLCs and mods the session uses is defined by two package files you export from your own copy of the game, while the lobby name, password, traffic and moderators live in server_config.sii under your control. For convoy crews based in Türkiye, Europe or the Middle East, the Istanbul location keeps the route to the server short.
It takes the Convoy session of American Truck Simulator off your own PC and runs it in a datacenter. SCS publishes a separate server application for ATS; on Linux it runs as amtrucks_server and has no screen or menu of its own. Nobody needs to be in the game to keep the session open, and running the server does not even require owning the game.
Two points are worth settling up front. First, this is not TruckersMP: TruckersMP is an independent mod that brings thousands of players together on its own servers, and you cannot rent a private one. What you set up here is a closed session in the game's own Convoy mode, capped at 8 drivers. Second, ATS and ETS2 servers are not interchangeable. The applications, home folders and package files are separate, so a group that plays both games needs two servers.
This setup suits virtual trucking companies and groups of friends who run regular hauls across the US map: everyone connects on their own schedule, and the session is always waiting with the same settings.
The server has no way of knowing which state DLCs or mods you own; it learns that from two files. server_packages.sii lists the map, DLCs and mods, and server_packages.dat holds the internal data for that map. The game itself produces both.
The order goes like this. Set g_console to 1 in config.cfg inside the ATS home folder. Launch the game, enable the DLCs and mods you want in the convoy, load your profile and make sure the map is actually loaded, because the command does nothing useful from the main menu. Open the console with the tilde key and type export_server_packages. The files land in the game's home folder.
On the server, their place is the .local/share/American Truck Simulator folder, the same one that holds server_config.sii. Copy both there with SFTP or the file manager, then restart. Packages are not linked to a Steam account, so whichever member has the most complete set of DLCs can do the exporting. When a new state DLC comes out or your mod list changes, refresh both files together; replacing only one leaves the list and the map data out of step.
Convoy sessions are small: SCS's server documentation gives 8 as the upper limit for max_players. The server draws no graphics and does not load the content of your state DLCs; its work is the map data, player synchronisation and AI traffic. That is why the Bronze plan with 4 GB of memory comfortably carries a full eight-truck convoy.
Look at Silver only if you have merged several big map mods into one package, or filled the roads with AI through max_vehicles_total. The surplus of Gold and above is wasted in this game, because the player limit does not move as memory grows.
We want to be straight about location too. Our server is in Istanbul, which makes it a good match for drivers connecting from Türkiye, Europe, the Middle East and the Caucasus. If most of your convoy lives in North America, a server in Istanbul will not be their shortest path, so decide based on where the bulk of your group actually sits.
These are the server_config.sii lines you will touch most. welcome_message is the greeting a driver sees on joining, limited to 127 characters, and it is a handy place for tonight's route or your Discord link. hide_in_company hides other players inside company areas, which cuts down on trucks tangling at tight loading docks. in_menu_ghosting disables collisions while someone sits in the pause menu, so a paused rig is not a roadblock. hide_colliding hides a vehicle that collides with someone right after a teleport.
Traffic density is decided jointly by max_ai_vehicles_player, max_ai_vehicles_player_spawn and max_vehicles_total; lowering them a little on a busy convoy eases synchronisation. The timezones line accepts a value from 0 to 2.
Moderators cannot be appointed mid-session; you write their Steam64 IDs into moderator_list and restart. Those drivers can then set the clock with /set_time, adjust rain with /set_rain_factor and list commands with /help. For troubleshooting, read server.log.txt, and server.crash.txt if the process went down.
Connections go through the game's Convoy screen. Because the server runs on a public IP it can be listed in the session browser, but the key detail to hand your friends is the search id: at startup the console prints a session search id line, and the number before the slash goes into the browser's search box.
Without a token the server signs in anonymously and generates a different search id on every restart. To pin it down, create a token on Steam's game server accounts page and add it to the server_logon_token line. The critical detail: the token must be created with ATS's game app ID, 270880. The server application's own ID is 2239530, and a token made with that one will not work. The Steam account creating the token must own the game.
Before connecting, every driver needs a DLC and mod setup compatible with the package, or some of them may be unable to join. Add a password and only the people you invite will get in.
4 GB is enough for the 8-driver Convoy limit. Groups merging large map mods can look at Silver; anything above that is unnecessary here.
Setup kicks off automatically after payment. Run the server once from the panel; a missing-file error is expected while the packages are not there yet.
Enable g_console, load your profile with the DLCs and mods you want, and type export_server_packages while the map is loaded; both files appear in the game's home folder.
Upload server_packages.sii and server_packages.dat over SFTP into .local/share/American Truck Simulator, next to server_config.sii.
Put the token you generated with 270880, your moderators' Steam64 IDs, the password, welcome message and traffic limits into server_config.sii.
After a restart, take the number from the session search id line in the console; drivers search for it in the Convoy browser and join.
