Why TheCrewHost for The 1.12.2 Pack?

The hardware and tools a server running more than two hundred mods at once really needs.

High clocks for a heavy pack

Mekanism factories, AE2 networks, Twilight Forest and Galacticraft dimensions all run through one main loop; the Ryzen 9 9950X carries that load on a single fast core.

Faster boots with DDR5

The long first boot, when over 250 mod files register, gets noticeably shorter on DDR5 6000 MHz memory and a Samsung 990 EVO Plus NVMe drive.

Generous NVMe storage

Even the Silver plan's 60 GB easily holds the roughly 436 MB server files, Recurrent Complex structures and a fast-growing multi-dimension world.

Full config and script access

Edit server.properties, CraftTweaker scripts and hundreds of config files over SFTP or in the web file manager to shape the pack around your rules.

Free DDoS protection

Public servers for The 1.12.2 Pack are covered by free DDoS protection on every plan, and unlimited traffic means you can grow without worrying.

24/7 support in Turkish

Hosting for The 1.12.2 Pack at TheCrewHost starts at $8.63 per month and runs xJon's 200-plus-mod Technic Platform pack on a Ryzen 9 9950X with DDR5 6000 MHz memory and NVMe SSD storage. Automation with Mekanism and Applied Energistics 2, magic with Thaumcraft, Botania and Blood Magic, space with Galacticraft and ExtraPlanets, and new dimensions with Twilight Forest and Mystcraft all wait in the same world. The server is in İstanbul, so players connecting from Türkiye get low latency. Our plans come with the memory and single-core power a pack this heavy demands.

What is The 1.12.2 Pack, and what is inside?

Built by xJon and published on the Technic Platform, The 1.12.2 Pack is a kitchen-sink collection for Minecraft 1.12.2. In its own words, it offers a unique collection of over 200 mods with optimized and customized gameplay. Its strength is variety: explore dimensions, practice magic or build automated factories, all in one world.

On the tech side you get Mekanism, AE2 Unofficial Extended Life (the maintained continuation of Applied Energistics 2), EnderIO, the Thermal Expansion family, IndustrialCraft 2, Extreme Reactors, Industrial Foregoing, PneumaticCraft and OpenComputers. Magic comes from Thaumcraft and its add-ons, Botania, Blood Magic and Witchery: Resurrected. For exploration there are Galacticraft with ExtraPlanets and Planet Progression, Twilight Forest, Mystcraft, Roguelike Dungeons and Recurrent Complex structures. Tinkers' Construct, Pam's HarvestCraft, Biomes O' Plenty, ICBM Classic, Portal Gun and Morph round out the list. In short, it is built for groups that want industry, magic and adventure on a single server.

How much RAM does The 1.12.2 Pack need?

The 1.12.2 Pack is the heaviest pack on this page. The LaunchServer.sh script in the official server archive starts Java with -Xmx4G, and the mods folder holds more than 250 files, so the server fills several gigabytes before anyone has even joined. That is why we only consider Silver 6GB suitable for small groups of up to four. For most friend groups our recommended starting point is Gold 8GB, and servers with more than ten players should look at Platinum 10GB and above.

On the CPU side, a 1.12.2 server processes every dimension's tick on one main thread. Loaded Galacticraft planets, Twilight Forest, Mystcraft ages and the separate mining dimension from Aroma1997's Mining World all share that time, with Mekanism and AE2 automation stacked on top. The Ryzen 9 9950X's strong single-core speed turns directly into smoother gameplay here. On disk, the server archive is about 436 MB, and world growth depends on how many dimensions get explored; even the Silver plan's 60 GB lasts a long time.

What should you watch for in the server files and first setup?

Besides forge-1.12.2-14.23.5.2860.jar, minecraft_server.1.12.2.jar and the libraries, mods, config and scripts folders, the server archive from The 1.12.2 Pack's Technic Platform page contains two more important folders: patchouli_books, which carries the pack's in-game guide, and structures, which holds the Recurrent Complex structures. Skip them during upload and the guide book opens empty or those structures never spawn.

The bundled server.properties includes level-type=BIOMESOP, which is what makes new worlds generate with Biomes O' Plenty terrain; leave it alone to keep the pack's intended look. The same file sets max-players=10, so raise it for a bigger community. Run it on Java 8, which Forge 1.12.2 requires; on the first launch the server writes eula.txt and halts until you change it to eula=true. Registering two hundred-plus mods and Mystcraft's one-time profiling make the first boot long, so watch the console and do not interrupt it. The bundled Roughly Enough IDs mod keeps this many mods from hitting 1.12.2's ID limits.

Can I use Bukkit plugins? Managing ICBM and griefing

The official server files run pure Forge and do not support Bukkit plugins. Community hybrids for 1.12.2 such as Mohist and CatServer try to run plugins alongside Forge mods, but with more than 200 mods the chance of incompatibilities is high, and the pack author does not support them. If you want to try a hybrid core, take a full backup first and test everything on a copy.

On a public server, ICBM Classic tops the list of mods to watch. Missiles and explosives can wipe out large areas in seconds, so spell out in your rules who may use them and where, and take a backup from the panel before any big conflict. Witchery: Resurrected curses, Open Modular Turrets and Portal Gun can also cause trouble in shared spaces, so dedicated rules for the spawn area make your life easier. The bundled Morpheus mod lets the night pass once part of the online players are asleep, ending bed arguments on busy servers.

How do players connect to a server for The 1.12.2 Pack?

Players open the Technic Launcher, sign in with a Minecraft Java Edition account, search for The 1.12.2 Pack, install it and choose the build you installed on the server from the version menu. The build number appears in the server archive's name and in the motd line of server.properties. A player on a different build is turned away because the Forge mod lists do not match.

The pack is heavy on the client side too; the Technic Platform expects at least 5 GB of memory to be allocated on the player's computer. Remind your players to raise the Java memory value in the launcher settings accordingly, or the stutter they see will come from their own machine rather than your server. When the main menu appears, they open Multiplayer, pick Add Server and type in the IP:port from the panel. To keep the server private, use white-list=true and the whitelist add command to let in only the people you invite. Our İstanbul server gives players in Türkiye low latency.

How to Set Up a The 1.12.2 Pack Server

  1. 1

    Pick a plan by memory

Silver 6GB fits up to four players, Gold 8GB suits most friend groups, and Platinum 10GB or higher fits busy servers; your server comes online automatically after payment.

  2. 2

    Download the server archive

Find the server download on The 1.12.2 Pack's Technic Platform page and unpack the roughly 436 MB archive, patchouli_books and structures folders included.

  3. 3

    Upload every folder over SFTP

Transfer the jars, the libraries, mods, config and scripts folders, patchouli_books and structures, plus server.properties, to the root directory without skipping anything.

  4. 4

Run the first boot on Java 8

Start the Forge jar with Java 8, set eula=true in eula.txt and restart; the first launch takes a while because more than two hundred mods load.

  5. 5

    Set up settings and rules

Op yourself, raise max-players, decide on a whitelist and write server rules for destructive mods like ICBM Classic.

  6. 6

    Invite your players

Players pick the same build in the Technic Launcher, set launcher memory to at least 5 GB and connect through Multiplayer using your IP:port.

Frequently Asked Questions

Answers to the most common questions before launching a server for The 1.12.2 Pack, based on the pack's own files.

How much does hosting for The 1.12.2 Pack cost?
Silver 6GB, the entry tier for The 1.12.2 Pack, costs $8.63 a month (₺345.00), and 6 plans are available overall. You can choose anywhere from 6 GB to 32 GB of RAM. Whichever tier you pick, DDoS protection, automatic backups, unlimited traffic and SFTP access come at no extra cost.
Which plan should I get for The 1.12.2 Pack?
Because the pack is so heavy, we only recommend Silver 6GB for small groups of up to four. Gold 8GB is a comfortable start for most friend groups, and communities above ten players with bases in several dimensions do better on Platinum 10GB or Diamond 12GB. Remember that even the official launch script is written for 4 GB.
Can I add mods or Bukkit plugins?
Your own 1.12.2 Forge mods can sit alongside the pack's 250-plus files, provided every player adds the same ones on their side. The official server does not support Bukkit plugins; hybrids like Mohist and CatServer can be tried, but the risk of incompatibility is high in a pack this large. Take a full backup before every change.
How soon will my server be ready?
Payment triggers automatic setup, so your server for The 1.12.2 Pack is ready to manage from the panel right after. Uploading the roughly 436 MB archive over SFTP can take anywhere from a few minutes to a bit longer depending on your connection. The first boot needs time to register over two hundred mods and run Mystcraft's profiling, and later boots are faster.
How do players connect to the server?
Players install The 1.12.2 Pack in the Technic Launcher, choose the build your server runs from the version menu and set the launcher's Java memory to at least 5 GB. After the game loads, they choose Multiplayer, click Add Server and paste in the IP:port listed in your panel. A mismatched build is refused because the mod lists differ.
Is my world backed up?
Yes. Automatic panel backups cover every plan, and a manual snapshot is one click away in the panel at any time. The pack also includes the in-game Backups mod, which keeps its own copies in the server directory. We recommend a manual backup before a big ICBM Classic battle, a new Mystcraft age or any mod change.
Is DDoS protection included?
Yes. Every plan for The 1.12.2 Pack includes free DDoS protection that works without any setup on your side. Public servers listed on server sites occasionally get targeted, and this protection helps keep your players connected. Our infrastructure runs against a 99.9% uptime target.
Can I move to a bigger plan later?
Yes, upgrades to a higher plan are available at any time. With The 1.12.2 Pack, memory needs climb quickly as players spread into new dimensions and factories grow, so starting on Gold 8GB and moving to Platinum 10GB or Diamond 12GB is common. Taking a manual backup before switching is a good precaution.
Why does the world generate with Biomes O' Plenty terrain?
The pack's bundled server.properties contains level-type=BIOMESOP, so new worlds are created with Biomes O' Plenty biomes. That is the look the pack was designed around. If you reset the world, keep that line; changing it means losing much of the biome variety the pack ships with.
How is The 1.12.2 Pack different from The 1.7.10 Pack?
Both are large collection packs by xJon on the Technic Platform. The 1.7.10 Pack delivers the classic mods of Minecraft 1.7.10 with extras like HQM quests and Flan's Mod. The 1.12.2 Pack brings newer mods such as the modern Thaumcraft, Mekanism, AE2 Unofficial Extended Life and Witchery: Resurrected, and it needs more memory. Worlds cannot be moved between them.
