What an old 1.6.4 pack actually needs to run well today: the right Java, a matching build and strong single-core speed.
A 1.6.4 server ticks the whole world on one main thread. The high clock speed of the Ryzen 9 9950X keeps tick times short even with Galacticraft machines running and mob hordes around.
Forge for 1.6.4 will not start on Java 17 or 21. Your server launches on Java 8, and the live web console shows mod-loading errors so you can pin down a broken mod fast.
The server files are based on the server pack Technic publishes. When players pick the same build in their launcher, the missing-mod and mismatch warnings simply do not appear.
Players who morph into a flying mob get kicked when allow-flight is off. Open server.properties in the file manager, flip one value and the problem is gone after a restart.
The Moon from Galacticraft and the Tropicraft dimension add to your world folder. Samsung 990 EVO Plus NVMe drives speed up chunk saves, and automatic backups keep your progress safe.

Attack of the B-Team server hosting at TheCrewHost starts at ₺345.00 ($8.63) per month and gives you 6 GB of DDR5 RAM, Ryzen 9 9950X cores and NVMe storage on the entry plan. The pack runs on Minecraft 1.6.4 with Forge, so your server boots on Java 8 instead of a modern runtime that would refuse to load it. Everything is hosted in İstanbul, which keeps things responsive for players in Türkiye and nearby regions while they chase gene powers and Galacticraft launches. Setup runs automatically after payment, and server.properties, ops.txt and the world folder are yours to edit from the web panel or over SFTP.
Attack of the B-Team is a Technic Platform modpack for Minecraft 1.6.4, put together by the Technic team with YouTube's B-Team, BdoubleO100 and GenerikB. Its theme is mad science rather than a strict tech tree. You can take the shape of mobs you have killed with Morph, splice mob genes into yourself with Advanced Genetics, build a rocket in Galacticraft and fly to the Moon, or brew and perform rituals with Witchery.
That chaos works best with other people around. One player builds a ship that actually moves with Archimedes' Ships, another settles an island in the Tropicraft dimension, and someone else wires up puzzles from quantum blocks in qCraft. A shared spawn with a lab per player, plus the occasional prank, is how most B-Team servers end up playing.
With sixty-plus mods, the pack is light compared to modern kitchen-sink packs that ship hundreds. Still, Galacticraft dimensions, fast aerial exploration and ships made of real blocks can push a server harder than the mod count suggests, which is why the sizing and settings below matter.
For a small circle of friends, Silver 6GB is enough: the pack loads, spawn stays loaded and two to five players can play comfortably. Once people start flying off as morphed bats or rocketing to new areas, the number of loaded chunks climbs. For an active group of five to ten, Gold 8GB leaves a healthier memory buffer.
An honest note on the high end: the 1.6.4 engine cannot turn every extra gigabyte into speed. All world logic runs on a single main thread, so beyond roughly sixteen players the bottleneck is usually single-core CPU performance, not memory. The Ryzen 9 9950X handles that well, but a 32 GB plan will not make a five-person server any faster.
Storage is rarely a concern. Even the 60 GB NVMe allowance on Silver is plenty for this pack. The world grows with explored area, and the Moon, space stations and the tropical dimension are saved as separate dimension folders. Pruning very old backups now and then keeps the automatic backup history tidy.
Start with allow-flight. When someone morphs into a bat or another flying mob while allow-flight=false, the server treats it as a fly hack and kicks them with "Flying is not enabled on this server". Setting allow-flight=true in server.properties and restarting fixes it for good.
Next is exploration speed. Flying players cover thousands of blocks quickly and force the server to generate fresh chunks nonstop, which shows up as CPU spikes and a ballooning world folder. Minecraft 1.6.4 has no vanilla /worldborder command, since the world border arrived in 1.8. Agreeing on a play area with your group and keeping view-distance between 6 and 8 are the practical tools here.
In Galacticraft, the Moon and every space station are separate dimensions, and a station packed with oxygen gear and solar panels costs processing time whenever players are there. Big Archimedes' Ships vessels move as one giant entity, so keeping them a sensible size and docking them when idle cuts down on lag and desync.
Version 1.6.4 predates the move to JSON admin files. Operators live in ops.txt, the whitelist in white-list.txt and bans in banned-players.txt, all plain text. You can use the op and whitelist add commands from the console, or edit those files in the file manager and restart.
In server.properties the values you will touch most are white-list, max-players, view-distance, difficulty, pvp and motd. If the server is just for your friends, turning on white-list=true and adding everyone by name is the cleanest way to keep strangers out.
Technic can publish new builds of the pack over time. Take a manual backup from the panel before moving the server to a new build, then have every player switch to that same build. Rolling a world back to an older build can wipe blocks and items from mods that were removed, so restore from a backup instead of downgrading.
Each player needs the Technic Launcher with Attack of the B-Team installed through it. With the pack selected, the Modpack Options screen lets them lock a specific build; picking the exact build your server runs avoids mod-list mismatch errors at login.
After the game starts, they open Multiplayer, click Add Server and paste the IP:port shown in your panel. Once saved, it stays in their server list. Because the pack loads sixty-plus mods, it also helps to remind players to give the client a few gigabytes of memory in the launcher settings, which cuts down on freezes on the loading screen.
When a friend cannot get in, the checklist is short: is the build identical, has the server fully finished starting in the console, and is the player on the whitelist? Those three questions explain most connection problems you will run into.
Choose Silver 6GB for a small crew, or Gold 8GB and up for a bigger group that explores a lot. Payment triggers an automatic install of the B-Team server.
Open gamepanel.hostingmerkezi.net, hit start and watch Forge load each mod in the console. The first boot also generates the world, so it takes a little longer than later restarts.
In the file manager, set allow-flight=true, keep view-distance moderate and enable white-list=true so only your crew can join. Restart to apply the changes.
Use the op command in the console for yourself and whitelist add for each friend. On 1.6.4 those names are written to ops.txt and white-list.txt.
Players install Attack of the B-Team in the Technic Launcher and choose the server's build under Modpack Options so every mod version lines up.
Paste the panel's IP:port into Multiplayer > Add Server. Before big builds or a build update, take a manual backup from the panel.
