Why TheCrewHost for Tekkit 2?

What we provide to keep a 1.12.2 pack with more than a hundred mods stable.

A strong core for 1.12.2 ticks

Industrial Foregoing machines, Logistics Pipes networks and Galacticraft dimensions all run through one main loop; the Ryzen 9 9950X's clock speed keeps it smooth.

Fast mod loading with DDR5

DDR5 6000 MHz memory and NVMe storage noticeably speed up the first boot, when over a hundred mods register, as well as routine world saves.

Backups mod plus panel backups

The pack's Backups mod snapshots the world every 30 minutes by default, and our panel's automatic backups add a second, independent safety layer.

CraftTweaker and config access

Reach the recipe tweaks in scripts/tekkit2.zs, morpheus.cfg and every mod config directly through SFTP or the web file manager.

Free DDoS protection

Public Tekkit 2 servers can draw attacks; free DDoS protection and unlimited traffic come standard with every plan.

24/7 support in Turkish

Java 8 issues, the EULA prompt or mod mismatch errors get help via ticket, Discord, WhatsApp, phone or live chat, day or night.

Tekkit 2 server hosting at TheCrewHost starts at $8.63 per month and runs your Minecraft 1.12.2 Tekkit 2 world, the pack xJon built for the Technic Platform, on a Ryzen 9 9950X with DDR5 memory and NVMe SSD storage. IC2 Classic machines, Project Red circuits, Galacticraft rockets, ProjectE alchemy and Railcraft lines all live on one server. Our server is based in İstanbul, which keeps connections quick for players in Türkiye. You manage the bundled Backups and Morpheus mods, the CraftTweaker scripts and every config file over SFTP.

What is Tekkit 2, and what did it keep from classic Tekkit?

Tekkit 2 is a modpack built by xJon for the Technic Platform, running on Minecraft 1.12.2. It gathers more than a hundred mods focused on industry and automation, and its description invites you to bend the world to your will, whether through alchemy or through sprawling factories and mines. The mods longtime players look for are back: IC2 Classic with Advanced Solars Classic, Gravisuit Classic and Energy Control; Project Red as RedPower's successor; plus BuildCraft, Logistics Pipes and Additional Pipes.

Alongside them you get Galacticraft trips to the Moon, Mars and Venus, ProjectE alchemy, Railcraft and Steve's Carts transport, Forestry and Binnie's Mods beekeeping, Industrial Foregoing machines, CC: Tweaked computers and peripherals from Plethora and Computronics. Building mods like the Modular Force Field System, Quark, Chisel and Chisels & Bits are included, and series tradition Tekkit Jaffa Cakes is still there. In short, Tekkit 2 moves the classic Tekkit idea onto a newer, more stable Forge foundation.

How much memory and CPU power does a Tekkit 2 server need?

The LaunchServer.sh script in the official server archive starts Java with -Xmx3G, which is the floor for booting over a hundred mods on an empty world. Memory needs climb quickly once players build factories and head to new dimensions, so we recommend Silver 6GB for groups of up to six and Gold 8GB once you pass ten players. The pack already ships with mods such as VintageFix, LoliASM and Universal Tweaks that trim memory use and boot time.

For the processor, single-core speed is what really counts. A 1.12.2 server runs each world tick on one main thread, and Industrial Foregoing and IC2 Classic machines, crowded Logistics Pipes networks, Forestry farms and chunk-loaded Galacticraft dimensions all share that time. That is why the Ryzen 9 9950X's high clock speed translates directly into smoother play. On disk, the server archive is about 216 MB; what really grows is your world folder and the copies the Backups mod accumulates.

Server files and first boot: LaunchServer, EULA and Java 8

The server archive from the Tekkit 2 page on the Technic Platform includes forge-1.12.2-14.23.5.2860.jar, minecraft_server.1.12.2.jar, the libraries, mods, config and scripts folders, LaunchServer and RestoreBackup scripts, server-icon.png and a prepared server.properties. On its first run the server creates eula.txt and stops; set eula=true, start it again and the world generates. Forge 1.12.2 only runs on Java 8 and will not start on newer Java releases.

Two details in the launch script deserve attention. The first is -Xmx3G: if you start the server with that script, raise the value to match your plan so you actually use the memory you paid for. The second is -Dfml.queryResult=confirm, which makes Forge auto-confirm the startup warning about missing mod blocks. Remove a mod and its blocks and items silently vanish from the world, so always back up before touching the mod list. The bundled server.properties ships with allow-flight=true and max-tick-time=-1; the latter stops the server from shutting itself down during a long tick.

Built-in helpers: Backups, Morpheus and CraftTweaker

Tekkit 2 includes several mods that make server management easier. Following config/backups.cfg, the Backups mod saves a copy to the backups folder in the server directory every 30 minutes by default, trims old copies automatically and announces backups only to operators. The RestoreBackup scripts in the archive exist to restore those copies. Since they live on the server disk, check space usage now and then; our panel's automatic backups run independently of them.

Morpheus solves the night problem on multiplayer servers: thanks to SleeperPerc=50 in morpheus.cfg, morning arrives once half of the online players are in bed. The pack's own recipe adjustments sit in the CraftTweaker script scripts/tekkit2.zs, which holds compatibility tweaks for Galacticraft and IC2 Classic. If you edit that file, handing the same version to your players is the cleanest way to keep things consistent. The Modern Beta mod, which offers terrain generation reminiscent of Minecraft's beta days, is part of the pack too.

How do players connect to a Tekkit 2 server?

The first stop is the Technic Launcher, where each player logs in with a Java Edition account and adds Tekkit 2 through the pack search. They must select the build you uploaded to the server from the launcher's version menu; that version number appears in the server archive's file name and in the motd line of server.properties. With a different build the Forge mod lists do not match and the connection is refused.

After the game opens, they click Add Server under Multiplayer and enter the IP:port shown in your panel. The bundled server.properties sets max-players=16, so raise it if you are planning a larger community. To keep the server friends-only, set white-list=true and add people with the whitelist add command. Bedrock, console and mobile editions cannot join Tekkit 2. Our İstanbul server gives players in Türkiye low latency, and those joining from Europe and the Middle East generally get good connections too.

How to Set Up a Tekkit 2 Server

  1. 1

    Choose a Tekkit 2 plan

Silver 6GB works for up to six players, while Gold 8GB or higher suits bigger groups with large factories; your server is provisioned automatically after payment.

  2. 2

Download and extract the server archive

Get the server file from the Tekkit 2 page on the Technic Platform, extract the roughly 216 MB archive on your computer and note its build number.

  3. 3

    Upload over SFTP

Copy the forge and minecraft_server jars, the libraries, mods, config and scripts folders, and server.properties to the root directory using your panel's SFTP details.

  4. 4

Start on Java 8 and accept the EULA

Run the Forge jar with Java 8; when eula.txt appears, set eula=true and restart. The first boot takes a while because more than a hundred mods load.

  5. 5

    Adjust settings and permissions

Op yourself, set max-players and your whitelist choice, and review the Backups and Morpheus configs in the config folder to fit your community.

  6. 6

    Invite your players

Send your group the IP:port from the panel; everyone selects the Tekkit 2 build shown in your motd and joins through Multiplayer.

Frequently Asked Questions

We answered the most common Tekkit 2 hosting questions by looking at the pack's own server files.

How much does Tekkit 2 server hosting cost?
Pricing for Tekkit 2 begins at $8.63 a month (₺345.00) on the Silver 6GB tier. There are 6 plans, and RAM ranges from 6 GB to 32 GB. Free DDoS protection, automatic backups, unlimited traffic and SFTP access are standard on all of them.
How much RAM does Tekkit 2 need?
Silver 6GB is a sensible start for up to six players. Once people build bases on Galacticraft planets and run big Logistics Pipes networks, Gold 8GB makes sense, and servers past fifteen players are more comfortable on Platinum 10GB or Diamond 12GB. Because 1.12.2 tick time depends on one core, CPU speed matters as much as RAM.
Can I add or remove mods in Tekkit 2?
Yes. You can add 1.12.2-compatible Forge mods to the mods folder, as long as players have the same mods in their Technic install. Be careful when removing mods: because of the -Dfml.queryResult=confirm flag in the launch script, that mod's blocks disappear from the world without warning. The official server does not support Bukkit plugins, and you should back up before every change.
When will my server be ready?
Your Tekkit 2 server is provisioned automatically once payment clears, and you can start managing it from the panel. At roughly 216 MB, the archive transfers over SFTP in a short while on a typical home connection. After you accept eula.txt, the first boot needs a little time to load over a hundred mods, and then players can join.
How do players join a Tekkit 2 server?
Each player installs Tekkit 2 in the Technic Launcher and picks the build your server runs from the version menu. From the main menu they head to Multiplayer, choose Add Server and paste the IP:port from your panel. The build number is shown in the motd and in the server archive's name, and joining with a different build is not possible.
How is my world backed up?
There are two layers. Our panel's automatic backups run on every plan, and you can take a manual backup whenever you like. On top of that, the pack's Backups mod drops a copy into the backups folder in the server directory every 30 minutes with default settings. Those copies take up disk space, so check the folder from time to time.
Does DDoS protection cost extra?
No. DDoS protection is free on every Tekkit 2 plan and switches on with your server. Public Tekkit 2 servers that appear on server lists can become targets, and this protection helps keep connections from dropping. We run the underlying platform with a 99.9% uptime target.
Can I switch to a bigger plan later?
Yes, upgrading to a higher plan is possible whenever you want. In Tekkit 2, memory demand grows as players spread across new planets and larger factories, so starting on Silver 6GB and moving to Gold 8GB is a common path. A manual backup before the upgrade is always a smart precaution.
What is the difference between Tekkit 2 and Tekkit SMP?
Both are xJon's packs for Minecraft 1.12.2. Tekkit SMP contains every Tekkit 2 mod and adds Thaumcraft, Mystcraft and Mo' Creatures along with their add-ons, which makes it heavier. Choose Tekkit 2 for pure industry and automation, or Tekkit SMP if you also want a layer of magic and exploration. Worlds cannot be moved between the two.
Does everyone need to sleep to skip the night?
No. The Morpheus mod in Tekkit 2 skips the night once half of the online players are asleep, using default settings. The percentage is set by the SleeperPerc value in morpheus.cfg in the config folder; change it to suit your community and restart the server.
