Why TheCrewHost for Stationeers?

Hosting a game with heavy atmos, power and logic simulation, without asking your players to install anything extra.

Native Linux Dedicated Server

The official Stationeers dedicated server runs directly on Linux with no compatibility layer in between, so memory goes to your station instead of translation overhead.

setting.xml and Startup Settings

ServerName, ServerPassword, ServerMaxPlayers, AutoSave and SaveInterval live in setting.xml and on the -settings startup line; change them, restart, and the server applies them.

Atmospherics on Fast Cores

Every room, pipe network and gas mixture is simulated continuously, and high-clocked Ryzen 9 9950X cores keep large pressurized bases, furnaces and IC10 automation responsive.

Auto-Pause and Autosaves

AutoPauseServer freezes the world when nobody is online, so greenhouses and life support do not fail unattended, while periodic autosaves plus panel backups protect progress.

Console Commands That Matter

Run save, kick, ban, say, pause and deletelooseitems from the panel console to deal with griefers, announce restarts and clear clutter that slows the simulation.

NVMe for World Saves

Each save is a folder holding world.xml and a Backup subfolder, and NVMe storage keeps autosave pauses short even on a sprawling base.

A vanilla Stationeers server from TheCrewHost runs ₺440.00 ($11.00) per month at the entry tier, with 5 plans climbing from 8 GB to 32 GB, all on a Ryzen 9 9950X with DDR5 memory and NVMe storage. This is the vanilla edition: RocketWerkz's native Linux dedicated server, rocketstation_DedicatedServer, running the game exactly as shipped, so every player joins with a stock client and installs nothing. You control the server name, password, player cap, autosave interval and auto-pause, and the save folder is yours to back up or replace. Hosted in İstanbul, it keeps building responsive for crews in Türkiye and nearby regions while the server simulates every gas mixture in your pipes.

What does a Stationeers dedicated server simulate?

Stationeers is RocketWerkz's hardcore space station engineering game, and the server carries the heavy part. The pressure, temperature and gas mix of every room, every pipe and cable network, power generation and draw, plant growth and player survival are all calculated continuously. On the logic side, IC10 chips, programmed in a MIPS-like language, run doors, pumps and furnaces automatically.

The world you pick sets the difficulty from the start. The Moon is relatively forgiving, while Mars, Europa, Mimas, Vulcan and Venus each bring their own trouble with cold, heat, toxic air or storms. Difficulty itself is chosen from Creative, Easy, Normal and Stationeer.

A dedicated server removes the problem of the station shutting down whenever the host quits. A crew playing at different hours joins the same base whenever it suits them: one player tunes greenhouse irrigation tonight, another wires up solar panels tomorrow. This vanilla edition is for groups that want the game exactly as RocketWerkz ships it, with everyone joining on a standard client.

How much RAM does a Stationeers server need?

Stationeers plans start at Gold 8GB because 8 GB is the realistic floor for this game, a figure community setup guides share, with 16 GB as their comfortable target. Player count is secondary here; what really grows memory is the number of objects in the world.

In Stationeers, every item on the floor, every pipe and cable segment and every machine is a separate object. As a base grows, atmosphere volumes, pipe networks and object counts multiply, so a base four players have expanded for months can weigh more than a fresh ten-player server. CPU load comes from the same place: pressurized rooms and complex gas mixtures make up most of what the server recalculates every cycle.

Gold, Platinum and Diamond come with 4 vCores, Emerald with 6 and Xtreme with 12. Xtreme 32GB clearly exceeds what one Stationeers world needs. On disk, each save folder also keeps a Backup subfolder and grows over time, which the NVMe space absorbs easily.

Which settings and startup options matter?

A Stationeers server keeps its settings in setting.xml beside the executable, and the -settings section of the startup line can override them as key-value pairs. ServerName is the name shown in the server list, ServerPassword locks entry and ServerMaxPlayers sets the cap. AutoSave turns on automatic saving and SaveInterval sets the interval in seconds, 300 by default, or five minutes.

With ServerVisible on, the server reports itself to the game's master server list. GamePort and UpdatePort are UDP ports that follow the allocation in your panel, and on a hosted server UPNPEnabled should stay off. AutoPauseServer halts the simulation while nobody is connected, and ServerAuthSecret defines a shared secret for remote admin commands.

The startup line also tells the server which save to load and which world to create if none exists yet. On a running server you can change values with the settings command too; settings servermaxplayers 6, for example, updates the cap immediately. Double-check setting.xml for anything you want to persist.

How do you run admin commands and keep the station tidy?

A Stationeers server takes commands from the panel console. save writes the game under a name, while kick and ban remove a player by client ID; bans are stored in a file under the save path and re-read with ban refresh after you edit it. say messages everyone, pause true or false halts and resumes the simulation, and status summarizes the server state.

On long-running worlds, clutter is the biggest performance enemy. deletelooseitems removes every item lying outside a slot, and cleanupplayers dead or disconnected clears the bodies of dead or disconnected players. Running these after a save, with a warning to players first, is the safe routine.

On recent server builds the panel console may show little command output; what you type is still processed, and the log file confirms the result. To manage from inside the game, set a ServerAuthSecret in setting.xml, configure the same value on your client and send commands with serverrun.

How do players join, and when should you pick BepInEx instead?

With ServerVisible on, your station shows up in the in-game server list; players search for its name and type the password when prompted. They can also connect directly with the IP and port from your panel. Server and client must run the same game version, so update the server whenever RocketWerkz ships a patch or players will be turned away.

This vanilla edition is for owners who want zero extra setup for their players: a public server, a large friend group, or a crew that wants the game as released. If you want code plugins that add machines, interface changes or new mechanics, choose the Stationeers (BepInEx) edition instead, with the caveat that every player then has to install BepInEx and a mod loader on their own client as well.

The İstanbul location keeps latency low for players in Türkiye and the surrounding region, whether they are cycling an airlock or welding a frame.

How to Set Up a Stationeers Server

  1. 1

Pick a plan for the base you plan to build

Gold 8GB suits a small crew starting out; for several bases, huge pipe networks or a group of more than eight, look at Diamond or Emerald.

  2. 2

Check out and let the server install

After payment the Stationeers dedicated server files download from Steam automatically, and you manage everything at gamepanel.hostingmerkezi.net.

  3. 3

Choose world, difficulty and save name

Pick Moon, Mars, Europa, Mimas, Vulcan or Venus, set the difficulty and give the save a clear name; the server creates that world if no save exists.

  4. 4

    Configure the server settings

Set ServerName, ServerPassword, ServerMaxPlayers, SaveInterval and AutoPauseServer, and keep UPNPEnabled switched off.

  5. 5

Add a secret for remote admin

Put a ServerAuthSecret in setting.xml and the same value on your client so you can send commands like save and kick from inside the game with serverrun.

  6. 6

    Call your crew aboard

Share the server name or the IP and port; players find it in the list with their standard client and enter the password to join.

Frequently Asked Questions

Questions about vanilla Stationeers hosting: memory, worlds, admin commands and joining.

How much does Stationeers server hosting cost?
A vanilla Stationeers server costs ₺440.00 a month ($11.00) on Gold 8GB, and the 5 tiers climb from 8 GB to 32 GB on identical Ryzen 9 9950X, DDR5 and NVMe hardware. We do not sell plans below the game's 8 GB floor, so even the smallest tier can carry a real starter base.
Which plan should I choose?
Gold 8GB is enough for two to four players starting from one base. Move to Platinum or Diamond as the base grows and players build separate outposts. For months-old megabases and groups over eight, Emerald 16GB, which matches the 16 GB community guides recommend, is the most comfortable.
Do players need to install mods?
No. This vanilla edition runs the game as RocketWerkz releases it, and everyone joins with the standard Steam client. If you want code plugins, choose the Stationeers (BepInEx) edition, but then every player also has to install BepInEx and a mod loader on their own client.
Which worlds can I host?
You can host any of the game's planets and moons: alongside the relatively easy Moon, Mars, Europa, Mimas, Vulcan and Venus each come with their own temperatures, atmospheres and storms. Difficulty is chosen from Creative, Easy, Normal and Stationeer, and the world is set when the save is first created.
How do I kick or ban players?
Use the kick and ban commands with the player's client ID in the panel console. Bans are kept in a file under the save path; to lift one, remove the ID from the file and run ban refresh. If you have set a ServerAuthSecret, you can do the same from inside the game with serverrun.
How do players find my station in the server list?
They open the in-game server list, look up the name you set in ServerName and enter the password if you configured one; connecting directly with the IP and port from your panel works too. Keep server and client on the same build by updating the server after each RocketWerkz patch.
How long does setup take?
Setup begins automatically when payment is confirmed, and the dedicated server files download from Steam without any manual step on your part. You then choose your world and settings and start the server; once the first world load completes, your crew can connect.
How are saves backed up, and can I roll back?
Automatic backups copy your server files regularly. Stationeers also keeps a Backup subfolder inside every save folder, and the server can load the most recently modified world.xml. After a disaster, say an exploding furnace, you can restore from a panel backup or an earlier autosave.
Can someone take my Stationeers server offline with an attack?
Free DDoS protection on every plan makes that very hard. A publicly listed Stationeers server can attract attacks, but the protection filters that traffic before it reaches your server, so the pressure balance of your base and your crew's session stay intact.
Can I upgrade my plan later?
Yes. A larger plan takes over your saves folder and setting.xml untouched, and the station loads exactly as you left it. In Stationeers the need to upgrade usually comes from the base growing and object counts multiplying, not from adding players.
