| Xtreme 32GB | Not recommended; far beyond SA-MP's needs32 GB and 12 vCores are well past what a SA-MP server can use. Start on Bronze. | 12 vCore Ryzen 9950X · 32 GB DDR5 6000MHz · 200 GB NVMe SSD Samsung 990 PRO | ₺1520.00/mo |
The things you actually touch when running a SA-MP server day to day: files, plugins, RCON and backups.
Edit gamemode0, filterscripts, plugins and maxplayers in the file manager and push compiled .amx files over SFTP. One click on restart in the panel and the change is live.
Drop the right build of sscanf, streamer, MySQL R41, crashdetect or Pawn.CMD into the plugins folder. On Linux, remember that the plugins line needs the .so extension.
The server and your Pawn code mostly run on a single thread. The Ryzen 9 9950X's high clock speed keeps heavy timers, long command lists and busy roleplay scenes responsive.
SA-MP servers are a classic target for fake query packets. Free DDoS protection filters that traffic upstream, while logqueries and messageholelimit in server.cfg let you watch from the inside.
INI saves in scriptfiles, samp.ban and your gamemode files are backed up automatically. Take a manual snapshot before a big gamemode update and roll back quickly if it misbehaves.

SA-MP server hosting at TheCrewHost starts at $6.00 per month (₺240.00) and gives you a GTA San Andreas multiplayer server with 4 GB to 32 GB of RAM and full control over your Pawn gamemode. The server lives in our İstanbul datacenter, so latency stays low for players in Türkiye and is solid across Europe, the Middle East and the Caucasus. You get direct access to server.cfg and the gamemodes, filterscripts, plugins and scriptfiles folders through the panel file manager or SFTP, so swapping in a freshly compiled .amx takes seconds. SA-MP runs its main loop on one thread, which is why the Ryzen 9 9950X's per-core speed matters more than core count.
A SA-MP server runs whatever compiled Pawn gamemode (.amx) you place in the gamemodes folder: roleplay, freeroam, stunt, drift, deathmatch, team deathmatch, racing or cops and robbers. Roleplay is the dominant style in Türkiye, with gamemodes built around jobs, houses, vehicles, factions and a police-versus-crime economy, usually backed by a MySQL database.
The server itself has three layers. Your main gamemode loads through the gamemode0 line in server.cfg. Separate pieces such as an admin system, anti-cheat or extra mapping run as filterscripts. Anything Pawn cannot do on its own, like talking to a database, parsing commands quickly or streaming thousands of objects, is handled by plugins listed on the plugins line. You can also reserve slots for bots with maxnpc and drive them with recordings from the npcmodes folder.
In short, the server binary never changes; the experience is defined entirely by the code you upload. That is why teams that build their own gamemode need fast, direct access to every file, not a locked-down one-click template.
For most SA-MP servers 4 GB of RAM is more than enough, because the server software is tiny and memory is rarely the bottleneck. Even a roleplay gamemode with a few hundred players typically sits at a few hundred megabytes. What grows memory is MySQL result caching, thousands of dynamic objects loaded through streamer, and large amounts of data in scriptfiles.
The real limit is the CPU. The main loop and all Pawn code execute on one thread, so single-core speed matters far more than the number of cores. A heavy timer or a loop that walks every player every second can stall the whole server, and a bigger plan will not fix that; cleaner code will. The Ryzen 9 9950X gives a well-written gamemode plenty of headroom per core.
maxplayers has a hard cap of 1000. Size your plan by how much data your gamemode holds rather than by slot count: Bronze for a lean freeroam server, Silver or Gold for roleplay with heavy mapping and a big database cache. The higher tiers add disk space for logs and backups, but they will not make a SA-MP server faster.
server.cfg is the plain-text file that controls how your SA-MP server behaves, and a handful of lines deserve attention before the first launch. If rcon_password is left at the default changeme, the server refuses to start, so set a strong password and keep it private. gamemode0 points to your main script: for gamemodes/rp.amx you write “gamemode0 rp 1”. The filterscripts and plugins lines take file names separated by spaces.
hostname is the name players see in the browser, and language sets the language filter so people searching for Turkish or English servers can find you. maxplayers sets your slot count, password locks the server, and announce and query control whether it appears in server lists.
For tuning, stream_distance (between 50 and 400, default 200) decides how far away players see objects and vehicles, while onfoot_rate, incar_rate and weapon_rate control how often clients send updates. Changing these blindly can hurt sync, so start from the defaults, change one value at a time when you see a concrete problem, and test in game after each edit.
The server only runs compiled .amx files. You compile your .pwn source on your own machine with Pawno or pawncc and upload the resulting .amx to the gamemodes folder. Includes such as a_samp, sscanf2, streamer or YSI are only needed at compile time and never have to be uploaded.
Plugins, on the other hand, run on the server and are OS-specific: .dll on Windows, .so on Linux. If you see samp03svr in the panel's file list, your server runs on Linux, and the plugins line must include extensions, for example “plugins sscanf.so streamer.so mysql.so”. A typical roleplay stack is sscanf, streamer, MySQL (the R41 series) and crashdetect, plus Pawn.CMD or the zcmd include for commands.
For storage you have two options. The built-in SQLite natives (db_open, db_query) keep a file-based database inside scriptfiles, which is simple and needs nothing else. For a larger roleplay project, the MySQL plugin connects to a separate MySQL server; you can run that database on a TheCrewHost VDS and put the credentials in your gamemode's config.
For a brand-new server whose gamemode uses mainstream plugins, open.mp is usually the better choice: it loads the same .amx unchanged, players still connect with the SA-MP client, and it fixes a long list of old bugs. open.mp is open source, stores its settings in config.json and adds new natives for Pawn scripters.
Staying on the original SA-MP server still makes sense in a few cases: your gamemode depends on an old plugin that has no open.mp-compatible build, you use plugins that patch server memory directly, or you simply have a setup that has run cleanly for years and you do not want to touch it. This page covers the original SA-MP server and the server.cfg layout; open.mp has its own page.
If you are unsure, back up first and test your gamemode on open.mp as a separate server. Once every plugin loads without errors and player data reads correctly, switch over. Both run on the same plans and hardware, so the decision is about compatibility, not price.
When a SA-MP server shuts down right after launch, check server_log.txt and the panel console first. The three usual suspects are an rcon_password still set to changeme, a plugin on the plugins line that cannot be found (a missing .so extension on Linux or the wrong build), and a gamemode0 entry pointing at an .amx that is not in the gamemodes folder.
If the server boots but crashes at random, load crashdetect; it writes the Pawn function and line that caused the crash to the log. For lag, look at your timers first: a SetTimer that loops through every player every 100 milliseconds can saturate the single-threaded main loop on its own. Running MySQL queries through threaded functions such as mysql_tquery also stops the main loop from waiting on the database.
If the server is missing from lists, make sure announce and query are both set to 1. During a suspected attack you can switch logqueries on to see incoming queries, then turn it off again so the log file does not balloon.
Choose a plan based on how much data your gamemode holds; most SA-MP servers start on Bronze. Setup begins automatically once payment clears and the server appears at gamepanel.hostingmerkezi.net.
Open server.cfg in the file manager, replace changeme with a strong RCON password, then set your server name and language. The server will not start with the default password.
Compile the .pwn locally, upload the .amx to the gamemodes folder over SFTP and put its name, without the extension, on the gamemode0 line.
Upload the OS-appropriate builds of your plugins to the plugins folder and list them in load order on the plugins line; add filterscripts to the filterscripts line.
Start from the panel and confirm in the console that every plugin loads and the gamemode initialises cleanly. If something fails, server_log.txt has the details.
Share the IP:port from the panel on Discord; players add it to Favorites in the SA-MP client and join. In game, /rcon login gives you RCON admin rights.
