Everything you need to run FXServer properly: full file access, txAdmin, framework support and hardware that holds up when the city fills up.
txAdmin, bundled with FXServer, puts a live console, resource start and stop, announced scheduled restarts, bans and warnings, and Discord or approved-license whitelist modes into one web dashboard.
The txAdmin recipe deployer pulls the framework skeleton, writes server.cfg and creates the database tables, so you can move straight to adding your own scripts to the resources folder.
The set onesync on line enables server-side entity state and anything above 32 slots. Up to 48 slots is free; beyond that you need Element Club Argentum or higher from the Cfx.re Portal.
Addon cars in .yft and .ytd format, MLOs and map edits take up space on disk and again in the FXServer cache, and NVMe storage keeps large packs from dragging out startup.
Much of the Lua and JavaScript resource load lands on the main server thread, so the high clock speed of the Ryzen 9 9950X matters when hundreds of resources run at peak hours.
Free DDoS protection shields a listed roleplay server from attacks, and sv_endpointprivacy true in server.cfg keeps player IP addresses out of publicly exposed server reports.
FiveM server hosting at TheCrewHost starts at ₺345.00 per month (about $8.63) and runs Cfx.re's FXServer on a Ryzen 9 9950X with NVMe SSD storage, with plans from 6 GB to 32 GB of RAM. Because your FiveM city runs in Istanbul, players in Türkiye get a low-latency route into it, and connections from Europe and the Middle East are generally smooth. txAdmin ships inside FXServer and gives you a live console, scheduled restarts with warnings, a ban and warn log and a recipe deployer for ESX, QBCore or Qbox. OneSync gets you up to 48 slots with no extra license fee, and server.cfg, resources and stream files are all reachable over SFTP. Every FiveM plan also comes with free DDoS protection and automatic backups.
A FiveM server runs Cfx.re's FXServer software and lets you build your own multiplayer world for the PC version of GTA V. The Cfx.re team joined Rockstar Games in 2023, which makes FiveM an officially backed modding platform for GTA V today. Players each bring their own legitimate copy of GTA V, while the server never hosts the game itself; it only distributes your resources and streamed assets.
The most common setup is a whitelisted serious roleplay server: police, EMS, mechanics, gangs and player-run businesses bringing Los Santos to life. The same stack also powers semi-RP freeroam servers, drift and drag racing communities, gang war and PvP arenas, and zombie survival modes.
Every FXServer needs a license key from the Cfx.re Portal to start at all. If you plan to sell VIP perks, vehicles or packages, read the monetization rules in the Cfx.re Platform License Agreement before you launch; Cfx.re uses Tebex as the storefront for these sales. Donation setups built without knowing the rules can lead to trouble later, up to the server being pulled from the list.
A bare FXServer with only the stock cfx-server-data resources uses very little memory. What drives RAM is the framework on top, the number of scripts, the vehicles and NPCs that exist in the world at once, and your player count. That is why our FiveM plans start at Silver 6GB, which is plenty for script development, framework testing and light servers of up to 32 players.
For a roleplay server on ESX, QBCore or Qbox running somewhere between 100 and 200 resources and filling 48 slots, Gold 8GB or Platinum 10GB is a sensible starting point. Cities that go to 64 slots or more with Element Club, run large car packs and use lots of MLOs get real headroom from Diamond 12GB and Emerald 16GB. Xtreme 32GB is more than most FiveM servers will ever use; it only makes sense for communities targeting 128+ players with hundreds of resources.
Single-thread CPU speed matters as much as RAM, because one badly written script can stall the main thread. On the disk side, stream files and the FXServer cache folder can grow into tens of gigabytes. Since the txAdmin dashboard graphs CPU and memory, you can upgrade based on what you actually see rather than guesswork.
The framework is the skeleton of a roleplay server. It provides characters, inventory, jobs, money and vehicle ownership, and every script you add is written against it. ESX Legacy is the oldest option with the largest script catalog. QBCore brings a tidier folder structure and plenty of ready-made jobs. Qbox is a modern fork of QBCore built on ox_lib and ox_inventory, with a compatibility layer for existing QBCore resources.
All three need a MariaDB or MySQL database and connect through the oxmysql resource. The connection details go into the mysql_connection_string setting in server.cfg, and oxmysql and ox_lib must be ensured before the framework core. The Qbox documentation targets MariaDB specifically.
Two practical warnings. Mixing scripts written for different frameworks is the single most common source of errors, so check compatibility before you buy anything. And escrow-protected scripts purchased through Tebex only run on servers whose license key belongs to the Cfx.re account that bought them. If you would rather keep the database off the game server, you can run MariaDB on a VDS with full root access.
server.cfg is the main config file FXServer reads at startup. The endpoint_add_tcp and endpoint_add_udp lines set the port (30120 by default). sv_hostname is the name shown in the server list, sets sv_projectName and sets sv_projectDesc define your project title and description, and sets tags and sets locale control search tags and language. load_server_icon loads a 96x96 PNG logo. sv_enforceGameBuild picks the game build clients must use, which is how you unlock newer DLC vehicles and clothing, and it is only read at startup.
Permissions use the ACE system. A line such as add_ace group.admin command allow grants rights to a group, and add_principal adds a player identifier (license, fivem or discord) to that group. Keep sv_scriptHookAllowed at 0.
txAdmin adds a management layer on top. It defines admins with granular permissions, stores bans and warnings in its own player database with no MySQL required, tracks playtime, and offers whitelisting by Discord membership, Discord role, approved license or admins only. It warns players before scheduled restarts and brings FXServer back automatically after a crash or hang.
Addon vehicles, MLO interiors and map edits go into a resource's stream folder and are declared in fxmanifest.lua. For cars, the .yft and .ytd model and texture files sit next to meta files like vehicles.meta, carcols.meta, carvariations.meta and handling.meta, which are loaded through data_file entries in the manifest. MLOs are made up of .ymap, .ytyp and .ybn files.
On the server, the real cost of this content is disk space and download traffic. FXServer processes the files into its cache folder and sends them to each player on first join. A pack with hundreds of cars easily weighs several gigabytes and makes a new player's first connection noticeably longer. Scripts are still what consume most memory, but giant packs clearly slow down startup.
On the player side, oversized textures cause what the community calls texture loss: invisible roads and blurry surfaces. The FXServer console prints warnings for oversized assets, and they are worth acting on. Compressing textures, dropping cars nobody drives and adding MLOs selectively keeps both the server and your players' PCs happy. If things behave oddly after stream changes, clearing the cache folder and restarting is a common fix.
Players join by searching your name in the FiveM server list, clicking your cfx.re/join invite link, or typing connect IP:30120 into the F8 console. A valid license key is all you need to appear in the list; to hide the server, enable the sv_master1 line in server.cfg with an empty value and players can only join directly.
The most important performance signal is the server thread hitch warning line in the console. It appears when a script keeps the main thread busy for too long, and players feel it as lag, vehicles teleporting or brief freezes. When you see it, disable the resource you added last and test again; the FXServer profiler command shows in detail how much time each resource consumes. On the client side, resmon lists per-resource load.
Scheduling one or two daily restarts in txAdmin resets the memory that leaky scripts pile up over time. With the city hosted in Istanbul, players in Türkiye feel little delay in police chases and voice chat, and players joining from Europe, the Middle East and the Caucasus generally get a smooth connection too.
Start with Silver 6GB for script development and light servers up to 32 players, or Gold 8GB or Platinum 10GB for a framework-based city aiming for 48 slots.
Sign in at portal.cfx.re with your Cfx.re account and generate a free server key. If you will buy escrow-protected scripts, create the key on that same account.
Once payment clears, the FXServer files install automatically and the panel shows your console, file manager and SFTP connection details.
If you use txAdmin, log in with the PIN shown in the console on first boot, link your Cfx.re account and pick ESX Legacy, QBCore or Qbox. Our support team can help with txAdmin access.
Enter your MariaDB details in the recipe wizard or the mysql_connection_string line, then upload extra scripts, cars and MLOs to the resources folder over SFTP and add their ensure lines.
Set sv_hostname, sets tags, sets locale and your server icon, add your own identifier to group.admin with add_principal, then grant your staff permissions in txAdmin.
Pin your cfx.re/join link in Discord; players join through the link, the server list, or by typing connect IP:30120 into the F8 console.
