Everything you need to run the server side of Rimworld Together comfortably.
Turn activities, sites, roads, factions, trading and spying on or off one by one, and lock every player to the same game speed with EnforcedGameSpeed.
ModConfig.json decides which mods are mandatory, which are allowed and which are banned. Admins can bypass these rules, so make yourself admin before anything else.
The deeplist command shows each player's UID, which you add to WhitelistConfig.json. Building a closed community where only listed players get in is that simple.
The server processes data between players, not RimWorld itself. As the developers put it, it has no heavy hardware needs; a steady connection and fast storage matter most.
On top of the server's own backup folder, our panel automatically backs up config files, mod lists and player data, and you can take manual backups before big changes.
Players blocked by the mod list, a server that will not start or a broken config file: write to us by ticket, Discord, WhatsApp, phone or live chat.
A Rimworld Together server at TheCrewHost starts at $6.00 (₺240.00) per month, with 7 plans offering 4 GB to 32 GB of memory, all backed by a Ryzen 9 9950X and NVMe storage. Rimworld Together is a community-built multiplayer mod where players live side by side on one world map instead of sharing a single colony. You send each other events, trade items and pawns, build roads and leave permanent marks on the planet through pollution or wiping out NPC settlements. On the server side you get full access to ServerConfig.json, ActionConfigs.json and ModConfig.json. Hosting in İstanbul relays trades and events between players in Türkiye without delay.
Rimworld Together is not built for classic co-op; its goal is for players to coexist on the same world map. Everyone founds and runs their own colony, and on the shared planet you see other settlements and interact with them. Players can send each other events, trade items and pawns, build roads, and permanently change the world for everyone through pollution or by destroying NPC settlements.
Because of that design, your group never needs to be online at the same hour. One player can put a trade on the table in the evening and another can respond when they sit down the next day. That is exactly why a persistent server matters: a server running on someone's home PC takes the whole planet offline for everyone the moment it shuts down.
If you want to manage one colony together at the same time, you need a different co-op mod. Rimworld Together is designed for a world where each player writes their own story while the neighbors' choices shape the planet too; a polluted region or a newly laid road shows up on everyone's map.
Both are asynchronous mods built around a shared planet where everyone plays their own colony, but they are separate products and cannot connect to each other's servers. Open World is the older project; its last server release on GitHub is v1.0.4, and it centers on trading, gifts and PvP. Rimworld Together offers a broader range of interactions, including events, pawn trading, road building, sites and factions, and lets you manage each of them individually in ActionConfigs.json.
If you are founding a new community and want more control on the server side, Rimworld Together is usually the more sensible starting point. Its own wiki covers server creation and each configuration file on separate pages, which makes the first setup much easier.
We only suggest Open World when your group already plays on a world built with that mod. Whichever you choose, every player must run the same mod version, and the server has to be set up for that version.
In the project's own words, a Rimworld Together server has no heavy hardware requirements; good network bandwidth and a bit of everything else will do. Since the server never runs RimWorld itself, colony simulation, pawn AI and the load from mods all stay on players' computers. Our Bronze 4GB plan comfortably exceeds what most communities need.
What grows on the server over time is disk usage. Player data, world information and the server's own backups accumulate; NVMe SSD storage keeps them quick to read and write, and the larger disks on higher tiers help on worlds that live for a long time.
You can set MaxPlayers in ServerConfig.json high, but in practice your community's size and connection traffic set the limit, not memory. Unless you are planning a public server for hundreds of people, tiers above Silver are bigger than this mod needs, and the extra RAM will not pay off.
A Rimworld Together server generates its configuration files on first launch. ServerConfig.json holds the basics: a server name of up to 40 characters, the IP and port, MaxPlayers and various cooldown timers. ActionConfigs.json is where you switch features such as activities, sites, roads, factions, trading and spying on or off, and EnforcedGameSpeed there fixes the game speed for every player. DifficultyConfig.json sets storyteller difficulty using the same options as RimWorld's custom difficulty.
ModConfig.json splits the mod list into Required, Optional and Forbidden. One important detail: admins can bypass mod restrictions, so test the list with an ordinary player account rather than your own.
Events that players can trigger, along with their costs and whether they are enabled, live in a separate Events folder; on a server with a tight economy, keeping events expensive preserves the balance. Stop the server before editing these files and restart it afterward.
Start by making yourself admin. After connecting once, run the deeplist command in the panel console, find your user in the list and note the UID; then pass that UID to the op command to become admin. The same UIDs are used in WhitelistConfig.json, so for a closed community you whitelist players by their UID.
The first player to connect is responsible for creating the world everyone will share. Enable every mod you plan to use before the world is generated to avoid compatibility trouble later. Some players may see incompatibility warnings caused by mods that use destructive patching; those warnings usually do not point to a real problem.
Players open the connection screen from the button the mod adds to RimWorld's main menu and type in the server IP and port. Out of the box the server listens on port 25555, though the port shown in your panel is the one to share. A server in İstanbul lets events and trades sent by players in Türkiye reach the other side quickly.
Because the server does not run RimWorld, small and mid-sized communities are fine on Bronze 4GB; upgrade later if you need more disk.
Once payment is confirmed the server installs and, on first start, generates ServerConfig.json and every other configuration file itself.
Stop the server and edit ServerConfig.json, ActionConfigs.json and ModConfig.json, fixing your required mods before the world is created.
Connect once, find your UID with deeplist in the console and grant yourself admin with the op command; add player UIDs too if you will use a whitelist.
As the first player to connect, set up the planet everyone will share; the mod list, difficulty and game speed should be final by now.
Share the IP, port and required mod list; players connect from the mod's button on RimWorld's main menu and found their own colonies.
Things to settle before you open a Rimworld Together server.
