Where rail timing, rocket jumps and item control decide everything: run your own Quake Live server, from duel to Clan Arena, with rules you write.

Select from our wide range of optimized game servers. Each server is configured for maximum performance and comes with DDoS protection.

Compare recommended use, plan hardware and monthly prices.
| Plan | Recommended for | Hardware | Monthly price |
|---|---|---|---|
| Bronze 4GB | Recommended: duel up to 16-player CA/CTFA Quake Live server is very light; this plan is far more than one server needs. | 4 vCore Ryzen 9950X · 4 GB DDR5 6000MHz · 50 GB NVMe SSD Samsung 990 PRO | ₺240.00/mo |
| Silver 6GB | Unnecessary; only for a large Workshop setThe extra RAM goes unused; 60 GB NVMe simply leaves room for lots of Workshop content. | 4 vCore Ryzen 9950X · 6 GB DDR5 6000MHz · 60 GB NVMe SSD Samsung 990 PRO | ₺345.00/mo |
| Gold 8GB | Not recommended for Quake LiveThe id Tech 3-derived server uses only a tiny part of this memory. | 4 vCore Ryzen 9950X · 8 GB DDR5 6000MHz · 70 GB NVMe SSD Samsung 990 PRO | ₺440.00/mo |

A Quake Live server is light but unforgiving about latency, so our setup prioritizes consistency and proximity over raw capacity.
Quake Live servers run 40 server frames per second by default. At that pace a fast Ryzen 9 9950X core has room to spare, even when a Clan Arena round is packed.
Define your own rulesets with .factories files in baseq3/scripts, then pair each map with the factory of your choice in mappool.txt.
Workshop item IDs listed in workshop.txt download when the server boots, and players pull the same content through the Workshop so they can join without missing files.
Enable remote admin with zmq_rcon_enable, zmq_rcon_port and zmq_rcon_password, and publish match stats to external trackers with the zmq_stats settings.
Some players cannot take a lost duel gracefully. Free DDoS protection filters attack traffic aimed at your server's IP and helps keep the match from being cut short.
Workshop map not downloading, access.txt ignored or ZMQ RCON refusing to connect? Message us on Discord or WhatsApp, open a ticket, start a live chat or call; the Turkish-speaking team is on shift around the clock.
Our Quake Live server hosting starts at $6.00 per month (₺240.00), and that buys a Quake Live dedicated server that is entirely yours, running on a Ryzen 9 9950X machine with NVMe storage in our İstanbul datacenter. In an arena shooter every frag comes down to timing, so a server close to Türkiye is a real edge for duel and Clan Arena players. Manage your server identity in baseq3/server.cfg, pair maps with factories in mappool.txt and keep admins and bans in access.txt. Workshop items listed in workshop.txt download when the server starts, and ZMQ-based RCON lets you run the server remotely.
In Quake Live, game types are defined as rulesets called factories, and one server can run several of them. The built-in factories include duel for one-on-one play, ffa for free-for-all, tdm for team deathmatch, ctf for capture the flag and ca, Clan Arena, the round-based mode where everyone spawns fully stacked. There is also ft, Freeze Tag, where fragged teammates are frozen until someone thaws them, ad for Attack and Defend rounds, dom for area control, and race, where players run a course against the clock.
mappool.txt decides which map loads with which factory. Each line holds a map name and a factory name separated by a vertical bar, so the same server can rotate one map as duel and another as CA.
Players can also switch game types by vote, and g_allowVote and g_voteFlags let you choose which votes are allowed. A common setup is to restrict voting on duel servers and keep map votes open on Clan Arena servers, where the crowd likes a say in what comes next.
Quake Live server settings live in server.cfg inside the baseq3 folder. sv_hostname sets the server name, sv_tags adds the tags shown in the browser, g_password sets a join password and sv_maxClients caps the player count. With sv_privateClients and sv_privatePassword you can reserve slots that only people with the password can use. The serverstartup line decides which map the server boots into; the default picks a random map from the pool.
One detail trips up plenty of new admins: factory files can override any cvar in server.cfg. Gameplay rules therefore belong in your own .factories file, not in server.cfg, which should stick to server identity and network settings.
Admins and bans are kept in access.txt, the file g_accessFile points to. Each line holds a SteamID64, a vertical bar and a role of admin, mod or ban. Take a panel backup before editing it; that is the easiest insurance against accidentally removing your own admin rights.
On the server side, Quake Live's Steam Workshop support works through workshop.txt. List the Workshop item ID of each map or content pack you want, one per line, and the server downloads them at startup. Then add the map to mappool.txt with a factory. Because players pick up the same content through the Workshop, missing-file problems are rare.
To write your own rules, drop a file with the .factories extension into baseq3/scripts. In it you can base a new ruleset on an existing factory and change weapon damage, starting loadouts, round timers or health values. The server_readme.txt that ships with the server files walks through creating custom game types in detail.
The community extends Quake Live servers with Python-based plugin frameworks such as minqlx, adding queue systems, player ratings and automatic team balancing. minqlx needs extra components such as Redis, so if you plan to install it, check with our support team first that your environment can accommodate it.
A Quake Live server is extremely light; Bronze 4GB is far more than a single server needs, and you will not need a bigger plan. The engine, rooted in id Tech 3, runs in a very small memory footprint, and even the com_hunkMegs value in the default config shows how modest it is. A 16-player CA or CTF server barely changes the picture.
What matters in an arena shooter is that the server delivers each frame, set by sv_fps 40, on schedule and that those frames reach players at a steady pace. That is what makes rail shots and item timing feel consistent. Here a fast core and a short network path to your players count for more than any amount of spare memory.
Higher plans are not recommended for this game. Silver 6GB only makes sense for disk space on a server that pulls in a large amount of Workshop content. If your needs change you can upgrade at any time, but most Quake Live communities stay on the smallest plan.
Players need to own Quake Live on Steam. In-game, they can search the browser for your server name or tags; from the console, connect plus the IP and port from your panel takes them straight in. Quake Live's default game port is 27960, and the exact port assigned to your server is shown in the panel.
Remote administration runs over ZeroMQ instead of classic RCON. In server.cfg, turn on zmq_rcon_enable and set zmq_rcon_port plus a strong zmq_rcon_password; the default RCON port is 28960. Connect with a ZMQ-compatible RCON client and you can change maps, kick players and run server commands. zmq_stats_enable publishes match statistics, which community stats sites and player rating tools consume.
Because the machine sits in İstanbul, Turkish players enjoy low latency, while opponents from the Balkans, wider Europe and the Middle East get a balanced connection. In a mode like duel, where one mistake decides the match, that difference is something players feel directly.
Bronze 4GB covers a single Quake Live server with room to spare. Select it and check out; the game will not use more than that.
The server installs automatically after payment. Use the panel's file manager or SFTP to reach server.cfg, mappool.txt and access.txt in the baseq3 folder.
Fill in sv_hostname, sv_tags and sv_maxClients, turn on zmq_rcon_enable and pick a strong zmq_rcon_password.
Add map and factory pairs to mappool.txt, Workshop item IDs to workshop.txt and your own SteamID64 as admin in access.txt, then restart the server.
Post the server name and the IP:port from your panel to your community, then connect through the browser or the console and play the first match.
What admins ask before hosting Quake Live: price, resources, factories, the Workshop, permissions and connecting.
Our İstanbul datacenter runs on Ryzen 9 hardware, delivering low latency to players in Türkiye and good connectivity to Europe, the Middle East and the Caucasus.
