Why TheCrewHost for Ground Branch?

Resources sized for Ground Branch's AI-heavy co-op and tight PvP matches, with full access to every config file.

Core Settings in Server.ini

Server name, password, player cap and global gameplay options sit in Server.ini, which is generated on first launch. Adjust it from the panel, then restart to apply.

Mission Rotation via MapList.ini

Pair each map with a mission type in MapList.ini to build your rotation, cycling Terrorist Hunt, Intel Retrieval or PvP modes in whatever order you like.

Steam ID Admins in Admin.ini

Grant admin rights by adding Steam IDs to Admin.ini, so squad leaders can kick players and change maps from inside the game.

Steam Workshop Mod Support

Add Workshop weapon and content mods to the server's mod configuration by item ID, then restart to run modded sessions.

CPU Power for the AI

In co-op, enemy pathfinding and decision-making happen on the server. The Ryzen 9 9950X's high clock speed keeps things smooth even against large enemy groups.

Help Around the Clock

If the .ini files, ports or mod setup trip you up on day one, reach support by ticket, Discord, WhatsApp, phone or live chat, 24/7.

Ground Branch server hosting with TheCrewHost begins at ₺345.00 per month ($8.63). Because the server for this Unreal Engine 4 tactical shooter also runs the AI enemies in co-op, the smallest plan comes with 6 GB of DDR5 memory. Setup is automatic after payment; you edit Server.ini, MapList.ini and Admin.ini in the GroundBranch/ServerConfig folder to set the server name, player cap, mission rotation and admins. Hosted in Istanbul, the server gives squads in Türkiye low ping, and in a close-quarters game where every corner is a decision, that translates directly into reaction time.

What modes can a Ground Branch server run?

A Ground Branch server can run co-op missions against AI or PvP modes where players face each other. Developed by BlackFoot Studios on Unreal Engine 4, Ground Branch is a realistic tactical shooter built around close-quarters combat and planning, where a couple of hits end a fight and the screen is almost free of interface clutter.

On the co-op side, Terrorist Hunt is the headliner: the team clears every hostile on the map. Intel Retrieval has you locate and extract intelligence, and Defuse tasks you with disarming explosives. PvP covers modes such as Hostage Rescue, Deathmatch, Team Elimination, Defend, Uplink and Dynamic Take and Secure (DTAS), with availability depending on the map. Before a mission, players gather in the Ready Room, pick their kit and talk through the plan. With your own server you set that rhythm for your group, say co-op raids on weeknights and team matches on the weekend.

How much RAM does a Ground Branch server need?

Our smallest Ground Branch plan comes with 6 GB of memory, which is a realistic starting point for a standard co-op or PvP server. An Unreal Engine 4 dedicated server is not as light as a 2D game or an older Source title: map data, physics and above all the AI enemies in co-op draw on both memory and CPU.

The game supports at most 16 players per server, so enemy density and mods shape RAM needs more than player count does. A co-op squad of four to eight running moderate enemy counts is comfortable on Silver. For high enemy counts, large maps and full 16-player PvP, Gold is the safer margin. If you run several Workshop mods, stepping up to Platinum makes sense. The heavy lifting for AI happens on the CPU, where the Ryzen 9 9950X's high clock speed is decisive. Emerald with 6 vCores and Xtreme with 12 are more than a single Ground Branch server needs.

How do you configure Server.ini, MapList.ini and Admin.ini?

Ground Branch keeps its server configuration in plain-text .ini files inside the GroundBranch/ServerConfig folder, and if they do not exist, the server creates them on first launch. So the first move is to start the server once, stop it, and then open the files in the panel's file manager or over SFTP.

Server.ini holds the fundamentals: server name, password, player cap and global gameplay options. MapList.ini defines the rotation, with each entry pairing a map with a mission type and any map-specific options. That lets you keep one list of nothing but Terrorist Hunt missions for co-op nights and another made only of PvP modes for a tournament. Admin.ini lists the Steam IDs of players who get admin rights. Changes take effect after a restart. Backing up the working setup before you edit means a single typo that stops the server from starting is quick to undo.

How do you add mods to a Ground Branch server?

Ground Branch servers can use mods from the Steam Workshop. Every Workshop item has a numeric ID at the end of its page URL; add those IDs to the server's mod configuration, restart, and the server pulls the mods down. If you are unsure which file to edit or what format to use, our support team will walk you through it step by step.

The official Mod Kit is distributed through the Epic Games Launcher. Gear mods such as new weapons, magazines and suppressors are among the most common community content. When you run a modded server, players need the same content, so pinning your mod list in a Discord channel heads off connection problems. After every major game update, check that your mods are still compatible. If an outdated mod keeps the server from starting, pulling it from the list temporarily and waiting for its author to update is the cleanest fix.

How do players connect to a Ground Branch server?

Players find your server by name in the in-game server browser and join; on password-protected servers they are asked for the password set in Server.ini. By default Ground Branch uses UDP 7777 for game traffic and UDP 27015 for server queries, and your server's assigned ports are shown in the panel. If the server does not appear in the list, first confirm in the console that it started cleanly, then check that the query port is correct.

In a tactical game, team communication is everything. Gathering players in the Ready Room and handing out roles before launching the mission makes it much easier for newcomers to settle in. With a 16-player cap, larger communities do well to run sign-ups for regular events. From Istanbul, the server offers low ping to squads in Türkiye and consistent connections for players joining from Europe, the Middle East and the Caucasus, which is what makes split-second reactions to an enemy behind a door count.

How to Set Up a Ground Branch Server

  1. 1

Choose a plan that fits your squad

Silver suits small co-op teams, while Gold is a strong start for enemy-heavy missions and 16-player PvP. The smallest plan comes with 6 GB of memory.

  2. 2

Complete payment and start the server once

The server installs automatically after payment. On its first start from the panel, the .ini files under GroundBranch/ServerConfig are generated.

  3. 3

    Edit Server.ini and Admin.ini

Put the server name, password and player cap in Server.ini, then add your Steam ID and those of your squad leaders to Admin.ini.

  4. 4

    Build the rotation in MapList.ini

List the map and mission pairings you want to play in MapList.ini; you can keep separate lists for co-op and PvP.

  5. 5

Add Workshop mods if you want them

Write the IDs of the Workshop items you want into the server's mod configuration, restart, and share the mod list with your players.

  6. 6

Call your squad to the Ready Room

Share the server name and any password in Discord. Players join from the server browser and pick their gear in the Ready Room.

Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions before launching a Ground Branch server: plan choice, player cap, mods and connecting.

How much does Ground Branch server hosting cost?
Renting a Ground Branch server costs from ₺345.00 per month ($8.63). The entry plan includes 6 GB of DDR5 memory, a Ryzen 9 9950X, NVMe SSD, unlimited traffic and free DDoS protection. We offer 6 plans for Ground Branch, and you can move up as your needs grow.
Which plan should I choose?
If you are playing vanilla with a small co-op team, Silver is enough. For 16-player PvP or co-op missions with high enemy counts, we recommend Gold. Running several Workshop mods? Platinum leaves more comfortable headroom. Emerald and Xtreme are larger than a single server needs.
How many players can a Ground Branch server hold?
Ground Branch dedicated servers support up to 16 players. Co-op missions are usually played with smaller squads, while PvP modes can fill the server with two full teams. You set the player cap yourself in Server.ini.
Can I add mods to my server?
Yes. Ground Branch servers support Steam Workshop mods; add the Workshop item IDs to the server's mod configuration and restart. Because players need the same mods, we recommend sharing your mod list with the community ahead of time.
When is the server ready to use?
Installation begins automatically once payment is confirmed. When it finishes, start the server from the panel once so the .ini files are generated, then configure it and invite your players. If you get stuck on any step, support is reachable 24/7.
How do players connect?
Your server shows up by name in the in-game server browser, where players can join it. If it is password-protected, they are prompted for the password you set in Server.ini. If the server is missing from the list, check the console and message our support team, and we will review the port and query settings with you.
Can I adjust the number of enemies in co-op?
Yes, enemy count and AI difficulty in co-op are set through the gameplay options in the server configuration. More enemies means more CPU load, so Gold or above is the safer choice for crowded missions.
Are backups taken?
Yes. Automatic backups are part of every Ground Branch plan, and you can add a manual one from the panel before editing. Backing up before major edits to MapList.ini or Server.ini means you can quickly return to working settings if a typo stops the server from starting.
Is DDoS protection included?
Yes. Your Ground Branch server is covered by free DDoS protection, and traffic is never capped. In competitive PvP, a server knocked offline by an attack can ruin an entire evening; the protection lowers that risk at no extra cost to you.
Can I upgrade my plan later?
Yes, you can move to a higher plan from the customer area whenever you like. Starting on Silver and stepping up to Gold or Platinum once you raise enemy counts or add Workshop mods is a sensible way to grow a Ground Branch server.
