| Plan | Recommended for | Hardware | Monthly price |
|---|---|---|---|
| Bronze 4GB | Up to 32 players, Lua included (recommended)Handles CS2D's full player cap and typical Lua scripts with room to spare; right for most servers. | 4 vCore Ryzen 9950X · 4 GB DDR5 6000MHz · 50 GB NVMe SSD Samsung 990 PRO | ₺240.00/mo |
| Silver 6GB | 32 players with many bots and heavy LuaOnly if Bronze ever feels tight; in practice the difference in CS2D is rarely noticeable. | 4 vCore Ryzen 9950X · 6 GB DDR5 6000MHz · 60 GB NVMe SSD Samsung 990 PRO | ₺345.00/mo |
| Gold 8GB | Larger than CS2D needsExtra RAM adds no performance to CS2D; the main gain is disk space for a big map archive. | 4 vCore Ryzen 9950X · 8 GB DDR5 6000MHz · 70 GB NVMe SSD Samsung 990 PRO | ₺440.00/mo |
| Platinum 10GB | Not recommended, resources sit idleSame 4 vCores as Bronze, and CS2D's single-threaded load gets nothing from more memory. | 4 vCore Ryzen 9950X · 10 GB DDR5 6000MHz · 100 GB NVMe SSD Samsung 990 PRO | ₺530.00/mo |
| Diamond 12GB | Not recommended for CS2DA 2D server never uses 12 GB; put that budget into maps and script development instead. | 4 vCore Ryzen 9950X · 12 GB DDR5 6000MHz · 110 GB NVMe SSD Samsung 990 PRO | ₺617.50/mo |
| Emerald 16GB | Not recommended; most of the 6 vCores idleAdditional cores do not speed up a CS2D server that runs on a single thread. | 6 vCore Ryzen 9950X · 16 GB DDR5 6000MHz · 120 GB NVMe SSD Samsung 990 PRO | ₺840.00/mo |
| Xtreme 32GB | Oversized for CS2DBuilt for heavy titles like modded Minecraft or ARK; a CS2D server has no use for it. | 12 vCore Ryzen 9950X · 32 GB DDR5 6000MHz · 200 GB NVMe SSD Samsung 990 PRO | ₺1520.00/mo |
Built around how CS2D actually works: plain-text configs, server-side Lua and a tiny resource footprint.
sys/lua/server.lua runs at startup, and the addhook API lets you react to joins, kills, chat and round events to build RPG servers, custom weapons or admin menus.
Hostname, player cap, game mode and password live in sys/server.cfg, while map order lives in sys/mapcycle.cfg. Edit them in the panel and restart.
Pair an sv_rcon password with sv_rconusers so only listed U.S.G.N. or Steam accounts can run remote commands, shutting out external RCon attempts entirely.
With sv_maptransfer on, missing maps, tilesets, sprites and sounds download straight from your server; extra files are shared through sys/servertransfer.lst.
CS2D and its Lua hooks run on one core. The Ryzen 9 9950X's high clock speed keeps per-frame scripts and bot AI responsive even with every slot taken.

A CS2D server at TheCrewHost starts at ₺240.00 per month ($6.00) on the 4 GB Bronze plan and installs itself automatically once payment clears. You get direct access to sys/server.cfg, sys/mapcycle.cfg and the sys/lua folder through the web panel's file manager or SFTP, so custom maps and Lua game modes are one restart away. The server runs in our Istanbul datacenter, which means low latency for players in Türkiye and comfortable connections from Europe, the Middle East and the Caucasus. Classic bomb maps, Construction or Zombies!, the hardware has far more headroom than this 2D shooter will ever ask for.
A CS2D server runs five built-in game modes, Standard, Deathmatch, Team Deathmatch, Construction and Zombies!, selected with the sv_gamemode setting. CS2D is Unreal Software's top-down, two-dimensional take on Counter-Strike, and it is free on Steam, so getting your friends onto the server never involves anyone buying a game.
Standard covers the familiar objectives: bomb sites, hostage rescues and VIP escorts. Construction hands players money to spend on walls, turrets, dispensers and teleporters, which turns each round into part shootout, part tower defense. Zombies! sends a team of zombies after the surviving humans. The real variety, though, comes from Lua. Community servers run RPG progression, custom weapon sets, rank systems and chat-driven minigames entirely server-side, so players join with the stock client and install nothing else. Because the map editor ships inside the game, your community can build its own .map files, and you can drop them straight into the rotation.
Very little. The dedicated server renders nothing and simulates a flat 2D world for at most 32 players, so its memory use is a small slice of the 4 GB on our Bronze plan. For nearly every CS2D community, Bronze is the correct choice, and paying for a larger tier buys headroom you will never touch.
What actually costs resources is Lua. Hooks such as always and ms100 fire every frame or ten times a second; bolt heavy loops onto them and the single core the server relies on starts to struggle, which players feel as stutter. That is where the Ryzen 9 9950X's strong per-core performance earns its keep. Bots are the other factor, because the AI script runs for each bot individually and leans on the CPU far more than on memory. Maps, tilesets and sound packs rarely add up to more than a few megabytes, and NVMe storage keeps map changes quick. Spend your budget on good maps and clean scripts, not on RAM that CS2D cannot use.
Server-side Lua starts from sys/lua/server.lua, which executes when the server boots; from there you load your other scripts with dofile. Scripts attach to game events through addhook, covering joins, kills, chat messages, spawns and round starts, so an admin menu, a set of chat commands or a persistent rank database is simply a matter of code. Even the bots are scripted: bots/Standard AI.lua holds the default AI, and you are free to tune it.
For administration, set up two layers. Choose an RCon password with sv_rcon, then restrict who may use it with sv_rconusers, listing U.S.G.N. IDs with a u prefix or 64-bit Steam IDs with an s prefix. Once that list exists, external RCon is disabled completely, so a leaked password on its own is useless to an outsider. Bans are stored in sys/bans.lst, and the welcome text shown to arriving players lives in sys/serverinfo.txt.
Nearly every setting sits in sys/server.cfg: sv_name sets the name shown in the server list, sv_maxplayers the player cap (32 at most), sv_gamemode the mode and sv_password an optional join password. Map order is kept in sys/mapcycle.cfg, so narrowing the rotation to bomb maps for a tournament night and switching to Zombies! maps for the weekend takes a two-minute edit.
CS2D listens on UDP port 36963 by default, and a change to sv_hostport only takes effect after a map change. Your server's assigned port is shown in the control panel; writing a different one into server.cfg can make the server unreachable from outside. Keep sys/usgn.dat in place, because the server needs it to register with the master server list. When a new CS2D version ships, update the server as well so players do not run into version mismatches, and take a panel backup first so your Lua files and configs are safe if anything goes wrong.
Players find your server by name in CS2D's server list or connect directly with the IP and port you share. If it does not show up in the list, first confirm in the panel console that the server is actually running, then make sure your sv_name is distinctive enough to spot in a crowded list.
For a clan match or a closed event, set sv_password and hand the password only to the teams involved. If you run custom maps, keep sv_maptransfer enabled: anyone missing the map receives the map file, tileset, sprites and sounds straight from your server. Large downloads slow down that first join, so trimming oversized sound packs is worth the effort. Files not tied to a specific map, such as images used by a Lua HUD, are distributed by listing them in sys/servertransfer.lst. With the server in Istanbul, players across Türkiye connect with low ping, and those joining from Europe or the Caucasus still get a smooth, playable connection.
Even a full 32-player CS2D server fits easily in 4 GB. Unless you are writing unusually heavy Lua, a bigger plan will not make the game run any better.
Once payment is confirmed the server is provisioned automatically. Log in to the control panel at gamepanel.hostingmerkezi.net to reach the console, file manager and backups.
Open server.cfg in the file manager, fill in sv_name, sv_gamemode and sv_maxplayers, then arrange your map rotation in sys/mapcycle.cfg.
Set a strong password with sv_rcon and add your own U.S.G.N. or Steam ID to sv_rconusers so remote commands only work for accounts you trust.
Use SFTP or the file manager to place scripts in sys/lua and maps in the maps folder, restart, and watch the console for Lua errors.
Post the server name and IP:port in your Discord. Players join from the in-game server list or connect directly by address.
