What a modded V Rising server needs: a ready loader, an open folder layout and logs that explain what broke after a patch.
The server arrives with BepInEx, winhttp.dll and doorstop_config.ini in place, so you just drop plugins into the plugins folder and restart.
Server-side mods need nothing on your players' PCs; friends launch the game, find the server and step straight into the modded world.
Mods built on VampireCommandFramework take commands in chat with a dot prefix, and typing .help lists every mod command available on the server.
Each mod writes its .cfg file under BepInEx/config, where you can tune experience rates, class bonuses or command permissions and then restart.
A V Rising patch can break mods, so back up first, update BepInEx and your mods together and use LogOutput.log to pin down the failing plugin.
Progression and inventory mods add extra work to every tick, and the Ryzen 9 9950X with DDR5 memory handles it even during crowded sieges.
Our V Rising BepInEx server starts at $11.00 per month (₺440.00), comes with the BepInEx mod loader already installed and runs on a Ryzen 9 9950X with NVMe SSD storage in İstanbul. The big advantage of V Rising modding is that most mods run only on the server: players connect with the normal Steam version of the game, while you add chat commands, leveling and class systems or inventory helpers through mods built on VampireCommandFramework. Upload the DLLs you download from Thunderstore into BepInEx/plugins over SFTP and tune them under BepInEx/config. It is made for communities that want progression beyond the official rules or strong admin tooling.
Both servers run the same V Rising dedicated server files, and ServerHostSettings.json and ServerGameSettings.json work the same way on each. The difference is that this one ships with the BepInEx mod loader. BepInEx loads plugins that hook into the game's code at runtime, which is the only way to add systems the official settings files do not offer.
Which one to pick depends on what you are after. If you want a server that stays close to the official rules and comes back up cleanly after every patch, the vanilla V Rising server needs less upkeep. If you want admin tools such as teleporting and item spawning from chat, progression mods that add levels and expertise, or conveniences for managing loot and storage, this server is the right choice.
The price of a modded server is maintenance. When Stunlock Studios ships a major update, you may need to switch some plugins off until compatible versions appear. For communities who accept that, mods turn V Rising into something you will not find on official servers.
Usually not, and that is what sets V Rising modding apart from most games. V Rising mods on Thunderstore are tagged by side: mods marked Server run only on the server and players connect with an unmodified game, while mods marked Client or needing both sides must be installed by players too.
Most popular server mods fall in the first group. KindredCommands provides a broad set of admin tools used from chat, Bloodcraft adds progression systems like levels, expertise and classes, and KindredLogistics makes inventory and storage management easier. What they share is VampireCommandFramework, or VCF: mods register their commands through it, and players use those commands by typing lines that start with a dot in chat.
That makes onboarding painless. You do not have to walk anyone through a mod manager or hand out profile codes; a player joins the server and types .help to see what they can use.
Start by downloading VampireCommandFramework from Thunderstore and uploading it to BepInEx/plugins, since nearly every server mod depends on it. Then add the DLLs for the mods you want to the same folder, along with any other dependencies listed on each mod's page.
The V Rising build of BepInEx runs on IL2CPP, so on first launch it generates interop assemblies. That makes the first boot of a BepInEx server noticeably longer than usual; the console may look stuck for a while, but the server has not frozen, so give it time. Later boots return to normal speed.
Each mod writes its own settings file into BepInEx/config the first time it runs. The right order is: upload the mods, start and stop the server once, edit the generated .cfg files and start again. If a mod seems to do nothing at all, check BepInEx/LogOutput.log first. Mods built against a different VCF version do not register their commands, which is the most common reason a freshly installed mod appears dead.
The 8 GB starting point that applies to vanilla V Rising holds for modded servers too, and a group of 10 running a few admin and convenience mods is comfortable on Gold 8GB. What really adds load are mods that keep per-player data and do continuous calculations.
Progression mods like Bloodcraft track every player's level, expertise and class data and do constant math during combat. On a server with more than 20 players running mods like that, 10–12 GB is healthier. For communities of 30 to 40 players combining dozens of castles, frequent sieges and several heavy progression mods, the 6-vCore Emerald 16GB plan brings noticeable relief.
Single-core CPU speed matters here, because mod hooks add work to the game's main loop. The Ryzen 9 9950X's clock speed limits the extra delay mods introduce, especially in big fights. On the storage side, remember that some mods keep their own data files, so make sure your backups include the BepInEx folder.
When the game patches, stay calm and take a backup. A panel backup covering the BepInEx folder, your settings files and the Saves directory gives you a point you can always return to.
Next, update the BepInEx pack, VampireCommandFramework and your mods at the same time. Upgrading everything together matters, because a version mismatch between VCF and a mod makes commands quietly disappear. Start the server and look through LogOutput.log for plugins throwing errors.
To disable a mod that has not been updated yet, move its DLL out of the plugins folder. The server can stay up in the meantime, vanilla or partly modded, so nobody has to sit and wait. When the author ships a compatible version, put the file back and restart. Before leaving a progression mod switched off for a long stretch, check its page to see where it stores player data.
Gold 8GB covers a handful of admin and convenience mods; if you will pass 20 players with progression mods like Bloodcraft, Diamond or Emerald is more comfortable.
Setup completes automatically after payment. On first launch BepInEx generates its interop assemblies, which can take a while, so wait until the console shows the server fully up.
Put VampireCommandFramework and the DLLs of the mods you want into BepInEx/plugins over SFTP, and double-check each mod's listed dependencies.
Run the server once, stop it, edit the mod settings under BepInEx/config and set PvP or PvE and clan size in ServerGameSettings.json.
Add your SteamID64 to adminlist.txt, authenticate in game with adminauth and type .help in chat to confirm the mod commands registered.
With server-side mods only, players install nothing; they search the server list for your server's name or connect directly with its address.
