Tooling for the two JSON files that shape a V Rising server, plus admin lists and saves.
Server name, password and player cap live in ServerHostSettings.json, game rules in ServerGameSettings.json; edit either in the file manager and restart.
Set CastleDamageMode to TimeRestricted so castles can only be attacked during the evening hours you choose, putting an end to 4 a.m. raids.
Add your SteamID to adminlist.txt and run adminauth in the in-game console; with RCON enabled you can also send announcements and scheduled shutdowns.
Upload a session you played locally into the Saves folder, load it with the matching save name and use AutoSaveCount to decide how many autosaves to keep.
With dozens of castles, servants and golems active at once, the server works hard; the Ryzen 9 9950X and DDR5 memory keep sieges smooth.
V Rising plans start at 8 GB of RAM and scale to 32 GB as your player count and castle density grow, with no need to reset your world.
TheCrewHost V Rising server hosting starts at $11.00 per month (₺440.00), on plans that begin at 8 GB of RAM in line with the game's official recommendation. Your server installs automatically after payment and runs around the clock on a Ryzen 9 9950X with NVMe SSD storage in İstanbul, so vampires connecting from Türkiye enjoy low latency. With full access to ServerHostSettings.json and ServerGameSettings.json, you decide between PvP and PvE, when castles can be raided, how big clans can get and how generous resource and crafting rates are. A laid-back PvE world for friends or a busy PvP season with weekend sieges, both run from the same panel.
Private games started from inside V Rising stop when the host logs off. A dedicated server keeps the world running, and that affects several systems unique to this game. Servant hunts you send out progress in real time, and the castle heart keeps burning blood essence for as long as the server is online.
That second point matters a lot. When the heart runs dry, the castle starts to decay, so a clan that leaves for a few days without topping it up may come back to weakened walls. On your own server you can slow that down with CastleBloodEssenceDrainModifier in ServerGameSettings.json or change how fast structures decay with CastleDecayRateModifier, flexibility you simply do not get on official servers.
Running your own server also means choosing your community. You can set up a password-protected PvE world just for friends, or gather a local PvP crowd with raid windows set to Türkiye time. When the season ends, deciding whether to wipe is up to you as well.
A V Rising server runs on two main settings files. ServerHostSettings.json defines the server itself: Name and Description are what the server list shows, Password restricts access, MaxConnectedUsers sets the player cap and MaxConnectedAdmins decides how many admins can still get in when the server is full. SaveName picks which save to load, while AutoSaveInterval and AutoSaveCount control how often the game saves and how many saves it keeps.
ServerGameSettings.json holds the rules of the game. GameModeType chooses PvP or PvE, and this is also where you find ClanSize, CastleDamageMode, MaterialYieldModifier_Global for gathering, CraftRateModifier for crafting speed and BuildCostModifier for building costs.
The server first reads the default files inside the game folder, then overrides them with any copies in the Settings folder under its persistent data path. Always edit the copy in Settings rather than the defaults, or a game update may reset your changes. For a quick start, GameSettingsPreset loads a ready-made rule set and GameDifficultyPreset picks Difficulty_Easy, Difficulty_Normal or Difficulty_Brutal.
The mode is set with GameModeType. On a PvE server players cannot hurt each other and castles cannot be attacked; on PvP both player fights and sieges are on. Once you pick PvP, CastleDamageMode becomes the setting that matters most: Always leaves castles open to attack at any hour, Never makes them invulnerable and TimeRestricted limits sieges to specific time windows.
With TimeRestricted, you define castle windows through VSCastleWeekdayTime and VSCastleWeekendTime under PlayerInteractionSettings, and player combat hours through VSPlayerWeekdayTime and VSPlayerWeekendTime. If most of your players are in Türkiye, putting raid windows in the evening gives clans coming home from work or school a fair chance to defend.
ClanSize defaults to 4. Smaller values keep PvP balanced and make it harder for one large clan to dominate the server, while on PvE you can raise it so your whole friend group fits in a single clan. Settle on clan size before launch instead of changing it mid-season, and you will avoid a lot of arguments.
8 GB of RAM is a safe starting point for small and mid-sized V Rising groups, which is why our plans begin at 8 GB. Memory use depends on the number of castles and how large they are as much as on player count, because each castle carries its own structures, servants, crafting stations and chest contents.
A PvE group of 10 runs comfortably on Gold 8GB. A PvP server with 20 to 30 players is healthier at 10–12 GB, since there are more castles and more simultaneous fights. For competitive seasons approaching 40 players, with every clan building a big fortress, the 6-vCore Emerald 16GB plan makes a clear difference during sieges.
The ServerFps value in ServerHostSettings.json sets the server's target update rate. Raising it adds CPU load, so think about your player count before you move away from the default. Short hitches during saves get longer as the world grows, and NVMe SSD storage keeps them as brief as possible.
To become an admin, add your SteamID64 to adminlist.txt in the Settings folder under the persistent data path, one ID per line. Changes to that file apply without a restart. In game, enable the console in the options menu, open it with the ~ key and type adminauth to receive your rights. From there you can use kick, banuser, bancharacter and unban, and bans issued in game are written to banlist.txt in the same folder.
RCON can be turned on in ServerHostSettings.json, but an RCON password is mandatory. Through RCON you can post an announce message and use announcerestart and shutdown to warn players ahead of planned maintenance.
Saves live in the Saves folder under the persistent data path. To move a session you started locally, upload its save folder into Saves/v4 and match the folder name with SaveName in ServerHostSettings.json. Beyond the game's own autosaves, the panel runs automatic backups too; take a manual one before any season wipe.
Gold 8GB covers a small PvE group; PvP servers heading past 20 players will handle sieges more comfortably on Diamond or Emerald.
Once payment clears, the V Rising server files install and become available at gamepanel.hostingmerkezi.net; the first boot writes the default settings files.
In the Settings copy, set the server name, description, password and MaxConnectedUsers, and check ListOnSteam and ListOnEOS if you want the server listed.
In ServerGameSettings.json choose GameModeType, ClanSize and CastleDamageMode, schedule PvP raid windows for your players' time zone and adjust resource rates.
Add your SteamID64 to adminlist.txt, enable the console in the game options, type adminauth and confirm your admin rights are active.
Players open Online Play, search the server list for your server's name or connect directly with the address from your panel, then enter the password.
