Bring U3DS config files, Workshop content and both plugin frameworks together on one server.
Add Workshop IDs to the File_IDs list in WorkshopDownloadConfig.json; the server fetches mods and their dependencies on startup, and players receive them automatically on join.
Install LDM by copying the bundled Rocket.Unturned module from Extras into Modules, or add the OpenMod.Unturned module for OpenMod. Both can run side by side.
Map, MaxPlayers, Password, PvE and Perspective live in Commands.dat, while difficulty values, item spawn rates and the login token go in Config.txt.
Put your Steam64 ID on the Owner line to become admin, then grant rights to your staff with the Admin command at runtime or through Adminlist.dat.
Unturned has no built-in autosave, so use the Save command or a clean Shutdown, and let panel backups protect the bases and inventories on your map.
A busy roleplay or PvP server runs dozens of plugins at once. The high single-thread speed of the Ryzen 9 9950X keeps the server responsive under that load.
Rent an Unturned server at TheCrewHost starting at ₺240.00 ($6.00) per month: it runs Smartly Dressed Games' official Unturned Dedicated Server (U3DS), with 4 GB to 32 GB of RAM to choose from. Hosting happens in İstanbul on Ryzen 9 9950X CPUs with NVMe storage, which keeps Workshop-heavy startups quick. Commands.dat sets the map, player cap and PvE or PvP rules, and WorkshopDownloadConfig.json adds Workshop maps such as Hawaii or Ireland. Install plugins through LDM, the maintained RocketMod fork, or OpenMod, and make yourself admin with the Owner line. Workshop content downloads to players automatically as they connect.
Unturned is Smartly Dressed Games' zombie survival game, and its server side runs on the Unturned Dedicated Server, U3DS for short. U3DS runs on Windows and Linux, and each server lives in its own folder under Servers, which holds both its settings and its world save.
That flexibility supports very different communities: classic survival on official maps such as PEI, Washington, Yukon or Russia, long-running community servers on curated Workshop maps, roleplay servers with plugin-driven economies and jobs, or arena and PvP servers built around fast fights.
Servers start in LAN mode by default. To appear in the public Internet list you need a Steam game server login token (GSLT) created for Unturned's app ID, 304930. Internet servers are also expected to follow SDG's server hosting rules, which communities selling paid perks in particular should read before launching.
Core settings sit in Server/Commands.dat inside the server folder. Every line is a command, and lines starting with // are treated as comments. Name sets the server name, Map the map, MaxPlayers the player cap and Password the join password. The PvE line disables player-versus-player combat, and Perspective limits the camera to First, Third, Both or Vehicle. The Port line defines the server port; Unturned uses that port and the one above it.
Config.txt holds difficulty and advanced options. Values such as item spawn chance are defined separately for Easy, Normal and Hard, and the server uses the Normal set by default. This is also where your GSLT goes.
There are three ways to add admins: the Owner line in Commands.dat, the Admin command while the server is running, or the Adminlist.dat file. With the Cheats line enabled, admins can use cheat commands like Give. Because most settings cannot change while the server is open, edit files with it stopped and start it afterwards.
Workshop content is added through WorkshopDownloadConfig.json. Open the map or mod on the Steam Workshop, copy the id value from the address bar and add it to the File_IDs list, separating multiple entries with commas. For example, the Hawaii map's Workshop ID is 1753134636.
On every startup the server downloads the listed mods and their dependencies and applies updates. Players do not need to install anything themselves; the required content downloads automatically when they connect. Curated maps such as Ireland, Kuwait, Elver, Buak, Arid, Escalation and A6 Polaris are only distributed through the Workshop, so they are added the same way. After the map downloads, remember to put its name on the Map line in Commands.dat.
The more content you add, the more disk space you use and the longer the server takes to boot. Large map and vehicle packs also affect memory, so revisit your plan choice as your Workshop list grows.
Unturned has two common plugin frameworks. After the original RocketMod team stepped away, SDG forked the project to keep it compatible and fix legacy issues such as teleport exploits: the Legally Distinct Missile, or LDM. LDM ships with the dedicated server, so installing it is just a matter of copying the Rocket.Unturned module from the Extras folder into Modules. Rocket plugin dll files go into Rocket/Plugins.
OpenMod is a more modern plugin framework started by one of Rocket's original maintainers. You install it by copying the OpenMod.Unturned module into Modules, or by running the OpenMod installer plugin through Rocket. OpenMod can run alongside RocketMod and provides compatibility with existing Rocket plugins.
A practical note: Unturned has no built-in autosave, so many owners run a plugin that saves on a schedule or issue the Save command regularly. Upload plugins through the panel's file manager or SFTP and edit their config files from the same place.
An Internet server with a GSLT shows up in the in-game server list, where players can search for it by name and join. For a direct connection, they enter the IP address and port in the Connect menu, using the details assigned in your panel; the same information works for Steam favorites.
Unturned also supports joining with a 17-digit Server Code. It runs over Steam Datagram Relay and is entered in the Connect Directly menu. Without a GSLT the code changes on every restart, while with one it stays tied to your server; the CopyServerCode command copies it from the console. Fake IP is another option, but its address changes on every restart and does not work with Steam favorites, so a hosted server with a fixed IP usually does not need it.
Because the server sits in İstanbul, players in Türkiye get low latency, and bullets register properly during vehicle chases and base raids.
Bronze 4GB covers a vanilla server of up to 24 players on an official map; look at Gold and above for servers that grow with Workshop maps and plugins.
Once payment clears, Unturned Dedicated Server installs automatically, and your server is ready at gamepanel.hostingmerkezi.net with console, file manager and SFTP access.
Generate a login token for app ID 304930 on Steam's game server management page and add it to Config.txt so the server appears in the Internet list.
Fill in Name, Map, MaxPlayers and Password, and put your own Steam64 ID on the Owner line. Set PvE or Perspective rules to suit your community.
List map and mod IDs in the File_IDs array of WorkshopDownloadConfig.json, and copy the LDM or OpenMod module into Modules if you plan to use plugins.
Players search the server list for your name or enter the IP and port in the Connect menu. Workshop content downloads as they join, and the password is requested if set.
