SCUM keeps a busy world running no matter how many players are online, so we kept the plan list short and strong.
Edit server name, password, PvP rules, loot respawn timers, puppet and vehicle limits and hundreds more values in SCUM/Saved/Config/WindowsServer.
Add SteamID64s to AdminUsers.ini with optional permission tags, and control who can open the in-game settings menu through ServerSettingsAdminUsers.ini.
Puppet hordes, mechs, animals and vehicle physics keep the CPU busy around the clock. Emerald spreads that across 6 Zen 5 cores, Xtreme across 12.
Players, bases, vehicles and inventories all live in the server database. NVMe storage keeps saves and loads quick on a crowded server.
Admins type chat commands starting with # to list players, teleport, spawn items and deal with troublemakers on the spot.
Once payment clears, the SCUM server files install automatically, and within minutes you can set your first options and open the island.
SCUM server hosting starts at $21.00 (₺840.00) per month, and for a game this heavy we offer just two serious plans: Emerald 16GB with 6 vCores and Xtreme 32GB with 12 vCores. A SCUM server simulates puppets, wildlife, vehicles and player bases at the same time, so smaller plans simply cannot keep up, which is why we do not list them. You get full access to ServerSettings.ini, AdminUsers.ini and the rest of the config files through the file manager or SFTP. The server runs in İstanbul on a Ryzen 9 9950X with NVMe storage, giving players in Türkiye and the surrounding region a short path to the island.
SCUM is an open-world survival game set on a prison island, with unusually detailed simulation of metabolism and character skills. On your own server you decide how hard and how fast that world plays. Crank up puppet density and the island becomes a genuine nightmare, or dial it down for a calmer, exploration and building focused experience.
Three formats dominate SCUM communities. On full PvP servers, squads plant flags and build bases, with raid windows and rules defined in the server settings. On PvE servers, player-versus-player conflict is restricted through rules and settings, and the real threat comes from puppets, mechs and the environment. On roleplay servers, the economy and traders take center stage, and fame point gain, money income and trader prices are tuned to the community.
Loot respawn timers, vehicle and animal counts, day and night length and death penalties all change how the world feels. SCUM has no official mod or Workshop support, so nearly all of this customization happens in configuration files, which rewards owners who know their settings well.
A SCUM server keeps large parts of the island alive even with nobody online. Puppets, mechs, wildlife, parked and moving vehicles, every piece of every player base and the items lying on the ground all take up memory. As player count rises, more areas become active and AI load climbs together with memory usage. That is why 16 GB is the floor for SCUM, not a luxury.
Emerald 16GB comfortably handles a small to mid-sized community with puppet and vehicle settings close to default. If you are aiming for a server that fills up near its player cap, with boosted puppet density, hundreds of vehicles and sprawling bases, Xtreme 32GB with 12 vCores is the right call.
On the CPU side the load spreads across several cores, but AI and physics still benefit directly from high clock speeds. On the storage side the server database grows over weeks, and NVMe keeps save-time hitches down. When your community grows, move from Emerald to Xtreme whenever you like.
Everything important lives in SCUM/Saved/Config/WindowsServer. ServerSettings.ini holds the server name, password, max players, PvP and raid rules, loot and puppet settings and much more. Stop the server before editing so your changes are not overwritten while it is running.
Permissions are handled by separate files in the same folder. In AdminUsers.ini you add one SteamID64 per line, optionally followed by tags such as [SetGodMode] or [RestartServer] to narrow what that admin can do. ServerSettingsAdminUsers.ini takes a plain list of SteamID64s and gives those players access to the server settings menu from the in-game ESC screen; no symbols or tags belong in that file. BannedUsers.ini keeps your ban list.
In game, admins type commands into chat starting with #. Listing players, teleporting, spawning items or kicking someone is done from inside the game rather than the panel. Take a backup from the panel before a big settings change so you can roll back a balance tweak you end up disliking within minutes.
Players connect to SCUM on the server's game port plus two. If the game port is 7777, players join on 7779; the port in between is used internally by the server. Take the game port shown in your panel, add two, and you have the address to share.
Players can search for your server by name in SCUM's in-game browser. If it is not showing up yet, or players do not want to search every time, they can add it to Steam's server favorites as IP:port and connect from there. If you set a password, players enter it when joining.
SCUM runs with BattlEye anti-cheat. Some connection failures come down to BattlEye not being updated on the player's side, or the game itself being out of date. After a game patch, the client and server versions will not match until the server is updated too, so restart the server to bring it onto the current build.
The settings with the biggest performance impact are the caps on how many puppets, animals and vehicles can exist at once. High values make the island feel alive but raise CPU and memory load directly. If players start reporting desync or sluggish puppet reactions as the server fills up, pulling those caps down a notch is the first thing to try.
Abandoned bases and ownerless vehicles pile up over time. Sensible flag and base upkeep rules let unused structures disappear and stop the database from growing unchecked. Very short loot respawn timers also leave far more items lying around the world than you need.
Regular, announced restarts are common practice on SCUM servers; they help keep memory clean and let players plan around them. Warning players before a restart cuts down on complaints about lost vehicles and gear. Over the long run, backing up the database that holds your server's history matters too: beyond automatic backups, make a habit of taking a manual one before big game updates.
Emerald 16GB suits a small to mid-sized community on near-default settings; Xtreme 32GB is for a full server with high puppet density.
After payment, the SCUM server installs automatically and appears at gamepanel.hostingmerkezi.net with console, file manager and backups ready.
Stop the server, open ServerSettings.ini in SCUM/Saved/Config/WindowsServer and set your server name, player cap, PvP rules and loot values.
Put your SteamID64s into AdminUsers.ini, add the same IDs to ServerSettingsAdminUsers.ini for the in-game settings menu, then start the server.
Add two to the game port to get the connection port; players can search your name in the browser or add IP:port to Steam favorites.
