Everything a modded Palworld world needs: the Windows server files, direct file access, and hardware that absorbs the Proton overhead.
The same Palworld server, compiled for Windows. Proton lets mods and tools that only exist for Windows load on Linux infrastructure without a Windows license on your side.
Run UE4SS Lua and C++ script mods, blueprint mods from Pal/Content/Paks/LogicMods, and classic .pak mods side by side on one server.
Server-side anti-cheat and advanced admin tools distributed as DLLs expect the Windows server files. The Proton plan provides the environment they need.
Upload whole mod folders over SFTP and edit config files in the panel's file manager. Samsung 990 EVO Plus NVMe drives read large mod packs quickly.
The compatibility layer and script mods add CPU work. The 9950X's high clock speed keeps Pal simulation smooth even in a heavily modded world.
Under Proton the live console output can be sparse. RCON, the REST API and in-game admin commands remain the dependable ways to run a modded server.
Palworld Proton server hosting starts at ₺840.00 per month and runs Palworld's Windows dedicated server build on Linux through Proton, Valve's Wine-based compatibility layer. There is one reason to choose it: UE4SS Lua mods, LogicMods and DLL-based tools such as PalDefender need the Windows server files and do not load on the native Linux server out of the box. Pocketpair also documents the server-side mod support added in 1.0 for the Windows edition. If you play vanilla, our standard Palworld plan uses fewer resources; if you have a mod list ready, this is the plan built for it. Your server runs in İstanbul on a Ryzen 9 9950X with NVMe SSD storage.
Palworld Proton means running Pocketpair's official Windows server files on Linux through Proton, the Wine-based compatibility layer Valve maintains for running Windows software on Linux. The game, the world save, the 32-player cap and the crossplay logic are identical to the standard server. The only difference is which build of the server is running.
That difference matters for mods. The native Linux server loads vanilla worlds and .pak content mods without trouble, but UE4SS works by injecting a Windows DLL into the game process, so it does not load on the Linux build out of the box. Server tools distributed as DLLs are Windows-only for the same reason.
The cost is honest overhead: the compatibility layer uses somewhat more CPU and memory than the native build. So our advice is simple. If nothing in your mod list needs UE4SS or a DLL, stay on the standard Palworld plan. If something does, Palworld Proton server hosting exists for exactly that case. Because it is the Windows build, the settings file lives at Pal/Saved/Config/WindowsServer/PalWorldSettings.ini rather than in the LinuxServer folder.
Anything built on UE4SS and any server tool shipped as a DLL requires the Proton build, while plain .pak content mods do not. The install instructions on a mod's page usually settle the question in seconds.
The main groups that need Proton are UE4SS Lua and C++ script mods (rule changes, new commands, automation), LogicMods that run through UE4SS's blueprint mod loader from Pal/Content/Paks/LogicMods, and DLL tools like PalDefender that add server-side anti-cheat and deeper admin control. Pocketpair's official mod system from 1.0 is also documented server-side for the Windows edition; the official docs place those mods in a Mods directory beside the server executable, one subfolder per mod with an Info.json, and the feature is still marked experimental.
Pure .pak mods that swap models, textures or sounds load from Pal/Content/Paks/~mods on either build. When a mod adds content players interact with, every client needs the same mod installed; purely server-side admin mods require nothing from players.
Pocketpair's 16 GB baseline applies on Proton as well, but a modded world fills it faster. The compatibility layer takes its share, each UE4SS script mod adds its own footprint, and Palworld's tendency to climb in memory over long sessions becomes more pronounced once mods are involved.
Emerald 16GB is a sensible starting point for small and mid-sized groups running a handful of admin or quality-of-life mods. When you stack dozens of script mods, a long LogicMods list, PalDefender and more than twenty players on one server, the 32 GB and 12 vCores of Xtreme 32GB give you the margin you need.
The easiest way to judge is the resource graph in the panel. If usage creeps toward the ceiling over a day, try a daily restart first. If memory is still high right after a fresh restart, your mod list has outgrown the plan and it is time to upgrade.
UE4SS mods and DLL tools are the first things to break when Palworld patches, so updating a modded server should be planned rather than rushed. Take a full backup from the panel, then confirm on each mod's page that it supports the new game version.
The 1.0 transition came with a known hazard: stale mod files from an earlier version could corrupt a 1.0 save. Deleting an incompatible mod's folder outright is cleaner than merely disabling it. Tools like PalDefender are usually tied to a specific game version, and moving the server to a new version before the tool catches up can leave the server unable to start.
When something goes wrong, isolation is straightforward: pull the mods temporarily, confirm the server boots vanilla, then add mods back one at a time. Console output under Proton can be less detailed than on the native build, so lean on the logs in Pal/Saved/Logs, RCON or the REST API. If you get stuck, our 24/7 Turkish-speaking support team is reachable through tickets, Discord or WhatsApp.
Joining a Palworld Proton server works exactly like the standard one: PC players type the IP:port on the join multiplayer screen, and console players find the server in the community list once it runs with -publiclobby. CrossplayPlatforms still controls which platforms are admitted.
For administration, AdminPassword gives you in-game rights, and the RCONEnabled and RESTAPIEnabled options open remote management. If you run a tool like PalDefender, its own configuration files add finer-grained permissions and logging on top.
World saves move freely between the two builds. Switch from Proton back to the standard server and your world and .pak mods carry over, while UE4SS mods simply stop loading. The reverse move works too, which makes it easy to start vanilla and move to Proton only when a mod you want actually requires it.
Small groups with a few admin mods can start on Emerald 16GB; servers with long script mod lists and a busy player base should begin on Xtreme 32GB.
After payment, the Windows server files and the Proton environment are set up automatically. When your login arrives, open gamepanel.hostingmerkezi.net.
Start and stop the server vanilla first. The folder structure gets created, and if anything misbehaves later you will know whether a mod or the base setup is to blame.
UE4SS files go next to the server binaries in Pal/Binaries/Win64, LogicMods into Pal/Content/Paks/LogicMods, and .pak mods into ~mods. Follow each mod's own instructions.
Because this is the Windows build, settings live under Pal/Saved/Config/WindowsServer. Set the server name, passwords and CrossplayPlatforms there.
Send players the matching mod list if you use content mods, share the IP:port, and check during the first session that every mod behaves as expected.
