Hardware and access chosen around how the Palworld dedicated server actually behaves, from the settings file to remote admin tools.
Every Pal working at a base is simulated server-side. Strong single-core speed keeps the world smooth when bases are packed with workers or a raid hits.
Open the settings file in the file manager or over SFTP and edit ExpRate, PalCaptureRate, DeathPenalty and BaseCampWorkerMaxNum inside the single OptionSettings line.
Choose which platforms may connect with CrossplayPlatforms, and add the -publiclobby argument to show your server in the in-game community server browser.
Set an AdminPassword, type /AdminPassword in chat and you can run /Save, /KickPlayer and /BanPlayer in game, or manage the server remotely through RCON and the REST API.
Pocketpair warns that slow storage can corrupt save data. Samsung 990 EVO Plus NVMe drives write Level.sav and player files without stalling the server.
A server visible in the community browser is visible to troublemakers too. Your game traffic sits behind free DDoS protection so you can focus on your guild.
Our Palworld server hosting starts at ₺840.00 per month and never drops below the 16 GB of RAM Pocketpair names as the baseline for a dedicated server. Your world runs in İstanbul on a Ryzen 9 9950X with DDR5 memory and NVMe storage, so players in Türkiye connect with low latency and save files write quickly. You get full access to PalWorldSettings.ini: XP rate, Pal capture rate, death penalty and workers per base are yours to tune. With the CrossplayPlatforms setting you can bring Steam, Xbox, PS5 and Mac players into one world, publish the server to the community list, or keep it private behind a password.
A dedicated server keeps your world online 24/7 without anyone's PC running and supports up to 32 players, while co-op caps a session at 4 and shuts the world down the moment the host quits. With a dedicated server your friends can log in while you are offline, their Pals keep working at base, and guild progress never waits on one person.
Palworld reached 1.0 in July 2026 and moved out of early access. Early access worlds carry forward, but the new mission and bounty structure resets some mission progress and recalculates accumulated XP, which is exactly why a backup before every major update is a habit worth building.
There are two ways to run it. A community server is published to the in-game server browser with the -publiclobby argument, which suits groups looking for new players. A private server stays out of the list, and players join by typing the IP and port, optionally with a password. Our standard Palworld plan runs Pocketpair's native Linux server build, the lightest option for vanilla worlds and worlds that only use .pak content mods.
Pocketpair's official guide lists 16 GB of RAM as the baseline for a dedicated server and recommends 32 GB or more for larger ones. It also notes that the server will boot on 8 GB, but with a much higher chance of crashing when memory runs out. That is why our Palworld plans start at 16 GB.
What drives memory is the content of the world more than the player count. Every guild base is simulated continuously along with its worker Pals, up to 50 per base, so ten players with five or six large bases can load the server harder than twenty players who mostly explore. Memory use also creeps upward over long sessions, something anyone who has run a Palworld server for a week has seen.
A practical rule: friend groups and mid-sized guilds are comfortable on Emerald 16GB. If you expect more than about twenty players, a growing number of bases, or a public community listing, go with Xtreme 32GB. On either plan, a scheduled daily restart clears the accumulated memory and prevents most late-night surprises.
Server settings live in Pal/Saved/Config/LinuxServer/PalWorldSettings.ini. The file may be empty on first boot; copy the contents of DefaultPalWorldSettings.ini from the server folder into it and edit the copy. Changing DefaultPalWorldSettings.ini itself has no effect.
Everything sits on one OptionSettings=(...) line, and a single missing bracket or comma means the server ignores your values, so edit with the server stopped. The keys people change most are ServerName, ServerPassword, AdminPassword, ServerPlayerMaxNum, ExpRate, PalCaptureRate, PalSpawnNumRate, DeathPenalty (None, Item, ItemAndEquipment or All), BaseCampWorkerMaxNum, GuildPlayerMaxNum and bIsUseBackupSaveData for built-in world backups.
The classic trap is WorldOption.sav. When you upload a co-op or single-player world, that file travels with the save folder and overrides the gameplay values in the ini. If your changes refuse to apply, check the save folder for WorldOption.sav first. Server name, passwords and ports are still read from the ini either way.
Yes. Since the v0.5.0 update in March 2025, Palworld dedicated servers can host Steam, Xbox, PS5 and Mac players in the same world. The CrossplayPlatforms line in PalWorldSettings.ini decides who gets in, and the default is (Steam,Xbox,PS5,Mac). To make a PC-only server, trim it to (Steam,Mac). The old AllowConnectPlatform key is no longer used, so ignore it if an outdated guide mentions it.
PC players open the join multiplayer screen, type the IP:port shown in your control panel into the address box at the bottom, and enter the password if you set one. Console players find the server through the community list, which means the server has to run with -publiclobby; if you would rather not be open to everyone, protect it with a strong ServerPassword.
Our İstanbul location gives players in Türkiye the shortest route to your world, and friends connecting from Europe, the Middle East and the Caucasus generally get solid connections too.
World data lives in Pal/Saved/SaveGames/0/<world ID>/: Level.sav holds the world, and the Players folder holds one character file per player. Our automatic backups capture these folders on a regular basis, and taking a manual backup from the panel before a big change or update is still smart practice.
When the game updates, the server has to match. If clients move to a new 1.0.x patch while the server stays behind, players get a version mismatch error on connect. If you get stuck on an update, our support team can walk you through it.
The mod picture is clear-cut. The official mod system and Steam Workshop support that arrived with 1.0 are documented server-side for the Windows edition only, and Pocketpair labels them experimental. The native Linux server can load .pak content mods placed in Pal/Content/Paks/~mods, but UE4SS Lua mods and DLL-based tools will not run there. If your mod list depends on those, look at our Palworld Proton plan, which runs the Windows server through Proton.
The most common cause of lag on a Palworld server is bases crammed with worker Pals. Pushing BaseCampWorkerMaxNum to the maximum and letting every player run separate bases stresses the CPU regardless of how many people are online. Keeping that value sensible on busy servers, and limiting bases per guild, is the single most effective tweak.
Older guides often recommend the -useperfthreads -NoAsyncLoadingThread -UseMultithreadForDS arguments. Pocketpair now states that on 1.0 and later, leaving them out may improve performance, so if you copied a startup line from an early access tutorial, try removing them and compare.
bIsUseBackupSaveData enables the game's own world backups at the cost of extra disk activity; on NVMe that cost is small, but there is no need to crank the frequency. Finally, shut down with /Save followed by /Shutdown rather than /DoExit, because a forced exit can lose everything since the last save.
Start with Emerald 16GB for a friend group or mid-sized guild, and choose Xtreme 32GB for more than twenty players or a server you plan to list publicly.
Once payment clears, the Palworld server files install automatically. As soon as your login arrives, open the console and file manager at gamepanel.hostingmerkezi.net.
Stop the server, copy DefaultPalWorldSettings.ini into Pal/Saved/Config/LinuxServer/PalWorldSettings.ini, then set rates, death penalty and the player cap the way your group likes to play.
ServerName is what appears in the browser, ServerPassword gates entry, and AdminPassword unlocks admin commands. Never share the admin password with regular players.
Add -publiclobby if console friends are joining or you want new players. For a private group, skip the listing and have everyone connect directly by IP.
Share the IP:port, log in, type /AdminPassword followed by your password in chat, and run /ShowPlayers to confirm who is connected.
