The settings you will actually use to run a Longvinter island, and the hardware underneath them.
Keys such as ServerName, MaxPlayers, Password, PVP, CoopPlay and MaxTents all sit in Game.ini, so a few minutes in the panel file manager shapes the whole server.
The PVP key decides whether players can fight each other, and CheckVPN screens connections coming through VPNs, whether you want a peaceful island or a competitive one.
MaxTents caps tents per player and TentDecay clears out abandoned ones, so the island does not fill with ghost camps and memory use stays in check.
With SaveBackups on, the game makes a backup once a day, and RestartTime24h restarts the server at the hour you pick; panel backups add a second layer.
ServerName, ServerTag and ServerMOTD help you stand out in the server list, and CommunityWebsite points players to your Discord or community page.
Longvinter's server is light but likes high clock speeds, and the Ryzen 9 9950X keeps it smooth during busy trading hours and heated PvP moments.
Longvinter server hosting at TheCrewHost starts at $6.00 per month (₺240.00) with Bronze 4GB, giving you a 24/7 Longvinter dedicated server on a Ryzen 9 9950X with DDR5 memory and NVMe storage. It is hosted in İstanbul, so players connecting from Türkiye and nearby regions explore the island without lag. Switching PvP on or off, enabling co-op mode, changing the per-player tent limit and writing the welcome message shown on in-game signs all come down to a few lines in Game.ini. Daily backups and a scheduled restart time are built right into the game's own server config.
A rented Longvinter server is a persistent island that keeps your community's tents, gardens and hard-earned items safe around the clock. In Uuvana Studios' laid-back but occasionally ruthless survival game, players fish, cook, grow crops, trade and build their own camps, and all of that only means something if the world keeps running while you are offline.
On your own server, you pick the island's personality. With PVP off and CoopPlay on, it becomes a calm life sim for groups of friends. With PvP on, protecting valuables, hiding your camp and forming alliances become the heart of the game. DisableWanderingTraders removes traveling traders if you prefer, and ChestRespawnTime sets how many seconds loot chests take to refill.
The default player cap is 32, which fits a small friend group just as well as a streamer who wants to gather a whole Discord community on one island, and you can change the cap in Game.ini whenever you need to.
Longvinter is a light server: the official server documentation asks for at least 3 GB of RAM and a CPU clocked at 3 GHz or more. That makes Bronze 4GB a good fit for an island of 10 to 12 friends and the most sensible place to start.
What grows memory use over time is the spread of tents, chests and dropped items across the island. If you are heading toward 12 to 20 players, Silver 6GB gives you headroom, and for an active community filling the default 32 slots, Gold 8GB is more comfortable. Servers that raise MaxPlayers above 32 can look at Platinum 10GB or Diamond 12GB. Emerald and Xtreme are usually more than Longvinter needs and only make sense for very crowded, long-lived community servers.
Clock speed matters on the CPU side, because Unreal Engine servers run the main game loop on a single thread, and the Ryzen 9 9950X sits far above the official minimum. Keeping TentDecay enabled also helps long term by cleaning up abandoned camps.
Longvinter's server configuration lives in Game.ini under Longvinter/Saved/Config. Always stop the server before editing; the official documentation notes that changes only apply after the server is shut down and started again.
Start with identity. ServerName is the name in the list, ServerMOTD is the welcome text shown on the island's signs, Password is the join password and CommunityWebsite is the web address you promote. ServerTag defines a single searchable tag, so putting your community's name there makes you easy to find.
For gameplay, PVP controls player combat, CoopPlay toggles co-op mode and CoopSpawn sets the co-op spawn point. MaxTents sets how many tents each player may place, TentDecay handles cleanup of abandoned tents and ChestRespawnTime sets chest refill time in seconds. CheckVPN is on by default and checks connections that come through a VPN.
You can edit the file with the panel file manager or over SFTP. After saving, start the server and check the console for errors.
Admins in Longvinter are defined with the AdminSteamID key in Game.ini. Despite the name, the field expects players' EOS IDs, and multiple admins are added by separating the IDs with spaces. Keeping the admin list short is the simplest security measure you can take.
The game has its own backup option as well: with SaveBackups enabled, the server saves a backup once a day. RestartTime24h sets the hour, in 24-hour format, at which the server restarts each day. Scheduling that restart for the quiet overnight hours refreshes memory without interrupting anyone's session.
On top of that, the automatic backups in TheCrewHost plans and the manual backups you can take from the panel protect the island's full save folder. Taking a manual backup before a big update or a change to PvP rules is the fastest way to roll the island back if something goes wrong, and downloading the saves over SFTP gives you a second copy at home.
Players join by searching Longvinter's in-game server list for your server name or ServerTag. ServerName, ServerTag, MaxPlayers and Password determine how the server shows up and filters in the list, so choose a short, memorable name. If you set a password, it is requested on join.
The server connects over UDP. The official default game port is 7777, but on TheCrewHost the IP and ports assigned to your server in the panel are what apply. If your server does not show up in the list, first confirm in the console that it actually started; the official docs also suggest checking port and firewall settings along with the EOS connection in that situation. If you are unsure, our support team will go through it with you.
When the game updates, the server files need to be current too; with a version mismatch, players may see the server in the list but fail to connect. Checking the console after an update to confirm the server started on the right build is a good habit.
Bronze 4GB covers an island of 10 to 12 friends; start on Gold 8GB if your community will fill the default 32 slots.
After payment is confirmed the Longvinter server files install automatically and your server appears in the gamepanel.hostingmerkezi.net control panel.
Open Game.ini in the file manager and fill in ServerName, ServerMOTD, Password, MaxPlayers and ServerTag for your community.
Choose the island's style with PVP, CoopPlay, MaxTents, TentDecay and ChestRespawnTime, and add admins by EOS ID in the AdminSteamID field.
Turn on SaveBackups for a daily backup and use RestartTime24h so the server restarts every day at a quiet hour.
Confirm startup finished in the console, then share the server name or ServerTag; players search the list and join directly.
