Why TheCrewHost for PocketmineMP?

The core tools for running a Bedrock server that grows through plugins.

The Poggit plugin ecosystem

Plugins are single .phar files dropped into the plugins folder, and Poggit, the community plugin repository, holds a large archive of lobby, economy, protection and minigame plugins.

Multi-world out of the box

Load several worlds from the worlds folder at once and move players between lobby, arenas, skyblock islands and spawn with plugins, all without running separate servers.

Two layers of configuration

server.properties holds basics such as motd, port, max-players and xbox-auth, while pocketmine.yml exposes advanced options for player data, worlds and performance behavior.

Load analysis with timings

The /timings command measures which plugin or event listener is eating tick time, so you find the source of lag with data instead of guesswork.

Fast cores for the main thread

PocketMine-MP runs game logic on a single main thread, and a high-clocked Ryzen 9 9950X helps that thread keep up when lobbies get crowded.

Whitelist and operators

white-list.txt and ops.txt decide who can join and who has admin rights, while free DDoS protection helps filter hostile UDP traffic before it reaches your server.

PocketMine-MP server hosting from $6.00 per month means a Bedrock server running the PHP-based PocketMine-MP software on AMD Ryzen 9 9950X hardware in İstanbul. PocketMine-MP is a third-party server written from scratch, and its strength is plugins rather than vanilla mechanics: with .phar plugins from Poggit you can build lobbies, minigames, skyblock, factions or a game mode entirely of your own design, and multi-world support is built in. There is one important development to know before you choose: the official PMMP team archived the project in July 2026 and said it will not release updates for new Minecraft versions. We explain below what that means for your server.

What is PocketMine-MP and which servers is it good for?

PocketMine-MP is server software for Minecraft: Bedrock Edition, written from scratch in PHP, C and C++ and licensed under LGPL-3.0. Unlike Mojang's BDS, its goal is not to replicate vanilla gameplay but to let you build custom experiences through plugins. By the project's own description, many vanilla features such as vanilla world generation, redstone and mob AI are missing, and the official documentation also lists minecarts and dimensions among the gaps.

That makes its sweet spot clear: servers where a lobby sends players into different minigames, plugin-driven modes such as skyblock and factions, PvP arenas, creative plot servers and projects where PHP developers write their own game rules. If you want a classic survival world where friends build iron farms together, PocketMine-MP is the wrong tool. In that case Vanilla Bedrock, LeviLamina with mods on top of vanilla mechanics, or PowerNukkitX, which implements mob AI and world generation, will serve you better.

Is PocketMine-MP still being updated?

Not by its official team. The PocketMine-MP GitHub repository was archived on July 9, 2026. The team explained that nobody was left who was willing to update it for new Minecraft versions, and published documentation on the protocol update process for anyone who wants to maintain a fork. The final official release, 5.44.3, was made for the Bedrock 26.30 client version. The Poggit plugin repository and community channels are still running.

In practice this means that because Bedrock requires matching client and server protocols, players who install the updates Mojang ships after 26.30 cannot connect to the official PocketMine-MP release. If you already run a PocketMine server with a big investment in plugins, you will need to move to a community fork that supports the new protocol, or plan a medium-term migration to an active project such as PowerNukkitX, Nukkit or LeviLamina. If you go with a fork, confirm it supports your players' client version before installing and try your plugins on a backup first. Our support team is happy to talk through which route fits you.

How do you install plugins and keep them compatible?

PocketMine-MP plugins ship as a single .phar archive. Upload it to the plugins folder and restart the server; the plugin's config files are created in its own folder under plugin_data. The main source for plugins is Poggit, where community submissions go through a vetting process.

The thing to watch most closely is the API version. Every plugin's plugin.yml declares which PocketMine API versions it supports, and the server refuses to load a plugin with an incompatible API version. Major version jumps, such as the move from PM4 to PM5, required plugin updates, so do not assume an old plugin will work just because the file name looks right. Watch the console on startup for the line confirming each plugin loaded, and disable failing ones one at a time to narrow things down. Upload files through the panel's file manager or over SFTP, and treat plugin_data as part of your backups, since economy and land data usually live there.

How much RAM do you need, and what limits performance?

PocketMine-MP is frugal with memory. What drives RAM use is mainly how many worlds and chunks you keep loaded at once, and on minigame servers where each arena is its own world, memory use grows with the arena count. The real limit is the CPU: game logic runs on one main thread, while jobs such as world generation and network compression are handed off to worker threads. That is why strong single-core speed makes a difference in crowded lobbies.

A small lobby with a few minigames runs comfortably on Bronze 4GB. If several large worlds, an economy and protection plugins will run together, Silver 6GB or Gold 8GB gives safer headroom. The project's own documentation says a single server can pass 100 players depending on hardware, but at that level the main thread becomes the bottleneck, and splitting players across several servers behind a proxy such as WaterdogPE is usually healthier. When you see tick lag, look at /timings data first.

How do players connect to a PocketMine-MP server?

To players, a PocketMine-MP server looks like any other Bedrock server. Phone, tablet and Windows players open the Servers tab, create a new entry and fill in the address and port your panel lists. With xbox-auth enabled in server.properties, players must be signed in with a Microsoft account, which stops people joining under someone else's name, so keep it on for public servers. Remember that the client version has to match the protocol your server supports.

Mojang's console limitation still applies: Xbox, PlayStation and Switch do not allow custom addresses, so console players use DNS redirects such as BedrockConnect or apps that broadcast the server as a LAN game. If you put the server behind a WaterdogPE proxy, turn xbox-auth off and set player.verify-xuid to false in pocketmine.yml, because the proxy takes over authentication.

How to Set Up a PocketmineMP Server

  1. 1

Weigh the version situation and pick a plan

Consider your players' client versions and the official update status; choose Bronze for a small lobby, or Silver or Gold for multi-world projects.

  2. 2

Check out and let setup finish on its own

Payment confirmation triggers the install, so the PocketMine-MP console, file manager and backups at gamepanel.hostingmerkezi.net are available right away.

  3. 3

    Edit server.properties and pocketmine.yml

Set motd, max-players, white-list and xbox-auth first, then change advanced behavior in pocketmine.yml a little at a time.

  4. 4

Download plugins from Poggit and upload them

Send API-compatible .phar files to the plugins folder over SFTP, restart, and check the console to confirm each plugin starts cleanly.

  5. 5

    Set up worlds and permissions

Upload arena or lobby worlds to the worlds folder, add admins with the op command and restrict joins with the whitelist command if needed.

  6. 6

Share the address and watch /timings

Give players your IP and port, and on the first busy evening check /timings data to spot which plugin is adding load early on.

Frequently Asked Questions

The questions that matter most before you launch a PocketMine-MP server.

How much does PocketMine-MP server hosting cost?
The smallest plan, Bronze, is $6.00 per month (₺240.00) and comes with 4 GB of DDR5 RAM, 4 Ryzen 9 9950X vCores and 50 GB of NVMe storage. Because PocketMine-MP is light on memory, most lobby and minigame projects can start there; the largest of the 7 options offers 32 GB.
Does official PocketMine-MP support current Minecraft versions?
The PMMP team archived the project on July 9, 2026 and announced it will not update it for new Minecraft versions. The final official release, 5.44.3, targets Bedrock 26.30, and newer clients cannot connect to it. To reach players on current versions you need a community fork that supports the new protocol or another actively developed Bedrock server.
Is PocketMine-MP a good choice for vanilla survival?
Usually not. The project itself states that features such as vanilla world generation, redstone and mob AI are missing, and it recommends the official Bedrock server for vanilla survival. For classic survival, Vanilla Bedrock, LeviLamina or PowerNukkitX is the better pick.
How much RAM should my plan have?
Bronze 4GB covers a lobby and a few minigames. If you will run several large worlds and a crowded plugin set at once, choose Silver 6GB or Gold 8GB. On very busy servers the single main thread sets the limit rather than RAM, and splitting across multiple servers behind a proxy works better.
Where do PocketMine plugins come from, and how do I add them?
Poggit, the community plugin repository, is the main source. Put the downloaded .phar file into the plugins folder with the file manager or SFTP and restart. If the API version in the plugin's plugin.yml does not match your PocketMine version, it will not load, and the console output says so clearly.
How long does setup take?
PocketMine-MP installs automatically once payment is confirmed, and your server is usually running in the panel within a few minutes. Configuring plugins takes as long as your plugin list demands; adding and testing them one by one prevents most later headaches.
Can mobile and console players join a PocketMine-MP server?
Mobile and Windows players enter the IP and port from the panel in the Add Server screen. Consoles do not allow custom addresses, so console players connect through community tools such as BedrockConnect DNS redirects or LAN broadcast apps. In every case the client version must match the protocol your server supports.
What do backups cover?
Automatic backups cover your server files, meaning worlds, plugins and the plugin_data folder, and you can take a manual backup from the panel at any time. A manual backup before a big plugin update or API change is the easiest way to keep economy and land data safe.
Is DDoS protection included?
Yes, every plan includes free DDoS protection. Minigame and PvP servers tend to attract attacks from rival communities more often, and the protection helps filter malicious UDP traffic before it reaches your server in İstanbul.
Can I upgrade later?
Yes, you can move to a bigger plan whenever you like, and your worlds, plugins and settings are kept. Since PocketMine-MP runs game logic on one main thread, very busy projects should also consider splitting the server behind a proxy rather than only upgrading.
