What we offer for servers that enrich vanilla gameplay with Sponge plugins.
SpongeVanilla loads no gameplay-changing mods. You run the server with permission, economy, protection and chat plugins while players keep joining with a vanilla client.
A vanilla server handles the world mostly on a single main thread. The Ryzen 9 9950X's high clock speed helps hold the 20-ticks-per-second target at peak hours.
Sponge's settings live in .conf files in the config/sponge folder, and each plugin keeps its own folder. Change a value in the file manager, then restart so Sponge picks it up.
Samsung 990 EVO Plus NVMe storage handles region files and autosaves quickly. The 50 GB on the smallest plan is more than enough for a long-running survival world.
When the Sponge API's major version changes, your plugins may need updates too. Take a manual backup in the panel before switching and roll back if anything breaks.
Public plugin servers can become attack targets, so every SpongeVanilla plan includes DDoS protection and unmetered traffic at no extra cost.
SpongeVanilla server hosting is a mod-free server that runs Sponge plugins without changing vanilla gameplay; the Bronze tier costs ₺240.00 per month (about $6.00), and 7 options span 4 GB to 32 GB of RAM. SpongeVanilla is a server wrapper that extends the vanilla Minecraft server with Sponge code at startup. It doesn't need Forge: it downloads the right Minecraft version itself, sets up the server structure and runs plugins written for the Sponge API. Your players connect with a regular Java Edition client, no mods required. Underneath sit a Ryzen 9 9950X, DDR5 memory and NVMe SSD storage in Istanbul, and you upload plugins through the file manager or SFTP.
SpongeVanilla is the implementation of the Sponge API for vanilla Minecraft. It doesn't need Forge; when the server starts, it adds the Sponge layer to vanilla Minecraft's code and loads plugins written for Sponge. Gameplay stays vanilla, so players never have to install a modpack.
SpongeVanilla suits three kinds of server owners. First, communities that have relied on Sponge plugins for a long time and want to keep using them on a server without mods. Second, people moving off a SpongeForge setup who want to drop the mods and return to vanilla gameplay; plugins and config logic stay largely the same. Third, developers who build or test Sponge plugins.
To be straightforward: for a brand-new plugin server that doesn't depend on a particular Sponge plugin, the Bukkit-based Paper offers a far larger plugin pool. If you want mods, SpongeForge or Forge Enhanced is the answer; if you want Bukkit plugins, Paper is. SpongeVanilla is the mod-free option for those who want to stay in the Sponge ecosystem.
Because SpongeVanilla runs without mods, it needs far less memory than a modded server, and Bronze 4GB is a comfortable starting point. For 2–10 players and 10–15 plugins, 4 GB is enough. At 10–20 players, Silver 6GB is the healthier choice, and Gold 8GB suits 20–35 players. Platinum and above make sense for busy servers holding a big world map, many protected regions or lots of economy data.
As your player count grows, the CPU matters more than RAM. A vanilla server processes the world mostly on one main thread, and the chunks, animals and redstone around every player add to each tick. Past about 50 players, managing simulation distance and entity density does more good than adding RAM.
Storage use follows exploration: each region players discover adds files to the world folder. Generating the spawn area before launch and setting a world border keeps both disk use and early-days stutter under control.
Which folder a plugin belongs in depends on the API generation, per Sponge's docs: the modern API 8+ releases read from plugins, while the older API 7 line from the 1.12.2 days still reads from mods. Upload the plugin jar into the right folder and restart the server, then, on API 8 and later, confirm it was recognized with /sponge plugins list in the console.
Ore is Sponge's official plugin repository, and you should only download plugins from trusted sources like it. Sponge's general settings sit in HOCON-format files in the config/sponge folder, while plugins usually keep their settings in folders named after their plugin ID under config.
For permission management, the Sponge build of LuckPerms is a good starting point: it hooks into Sponge's permission service and lets you define ranks and groups. Remember that each plugin is written for a particular API version; the plugin page lists the supported API version, and it needs to match your SpongeVanilla release.
SpongeVanilla releases follow Minecraft versions, and each one maps to a specific Sponge API version. On Sponge's download page, builds are marked recommended or release candidate (RC); on a live server, prefer the recommended one. When the API's major version changes, your plugins need updates for that version too, so check every plugin you use for a new release and take a backup before upgrading Minecraft.
On the performance side, vanilla rules apply. Keeping view-distance and simulation-distance balanced in server.properties and limiting big animal farms and item-spilling contraptions improves tick time directly. Instead of guessing where lag comes from, take a report with the Sponge build of the spark profiler.
Once a world is upgraded to a new Minecraft version, it can't be taken back to the old one. Do version upgrades at a quiet hour, take a manual backup from the panel right before, and watch the console for plugin errors on the first boot.
All players need is vanilla Minecraft Java Edition on the same version as the server; no mods, modpacks or extra software. In Minecraft they add a new server under Multiplayer and paste in the IP:port from your panel.
Plugin effects that show up on the client, such as chat formats, scoreboards or command-driven menus, work without the player installing anything. That makes SpongeVanilla handy when you don't want to tell friends to install a mod but still want proper admin tools.
To open the server only to people you know, type whitelist on in the console and add each player with whitelist add. Assign admins with the op command, and use LuckPerms groups to give moderators more limited powers.
Bronze 4GB is plenty for a small group of friends; if you expect more than 10 players, look at Silver or higher in the plan guide.
Once payment is confirmed, your SpongeVanilla server installs automatically, and you reach the console, files and backups at gamepanel.hostingmerkezi.net.
Start the server and let the world generate, then set the player cap, difficulty and view distance in server.properties and restart.
Put the plugins you downloaded from Ore into the folder that matches your server's API version, restart, and confirm they loaded with /sponge plugins list.
Create ranks and groups with LuckPerms and make admins with op; if the server is friends-only, run whitelist on.
Send friends the IP:port from the panel. They connect straight from the Multiplayer menu with a vanilla Minecraft Java client on the same version.
