The setup we provide for a hybrid server that carries two ecosystems at once.
Upload Forge, NeoForge or Fabric mods into the mods folder and Bukkit or Spigot plugins into the plugins folder, managing both through the file manager or SFTP.
Arclight's own config file, arclight.conf, holds compatibility settings such as how modded blocks are exposed to plugins, next to the familiar bukkit.yml and spigot.yml.
A hybrid handles every event on both the mod side and the Bukkit side, which adds work to each tick. The Ryzen 9 9950X's high clock speed gives you room to absorb that overhead.
When a plugin clashes with the modded world, the error lands in the console and the logs folder. Pull the plugin, restart, and you can isolate the conflict quickly.
On a hybrid, a new plugin can affect the world in unexpected ways. Besides automatic backups, take an instant backup from the panel and test without risk.
Plugin-driven community servers tend to be public. Every Arclight plan comes with free DDoS protection and unmetered traffic at no additional charge.
With Arclight server hosting you get a hybrid that runs mods and Bukkit plugins on one server; plans start at ₺345.00 per month (about $8.63), with 6 tiers from 6 GB to 32 GB of RAM. Arclight is a hybrid server that injects the Bukkit/Spigot API into the mod loader using Mixin: it runs on Forge for 1.20.1, and mainly on NeoForge and Fabric for the 1.21 series. Your mods sit in the mods folder and your plugins in the plugins folder, side by side. Players only install the modpack, since plugins need nothing on the client. The hybrid layer's extra load is handled by a Ryzen 9 9950X, DDR5 memory and NVMe SSD storage in our Istanbul datacenter.
Arclight is a hybrid server that adds the Bukkit and Spigot plugin API to a mod loader using Mixin. Older hybrids merged Forge's code with CraftBukkit patches; Arclight instead injects a Bukkit layer on top of the modding environment, which is how one project can ship separate builds for Forge, NeoForge and Fabric. Active development covers the 1.20 and 1.21 series, with the Forge build leading on 1.20.1 and NeoForge and Fabric builds on 1.21.
The payoff is that you can put the plugin ecosystem on top of your modpack. LuckPerms for permissions, Vault-based economy plugins, announcement and menu plugins can all run in the same world as your mod content. According to Arclight's own FAQ, Bukkit and Spigot plugins are fully targeted and plugins that touch NMS/OBC classes are supported, while Paper-specific APIs are not supported yet.
When should you pick Arclight? If you play a modern NeoForge or Fabric pack and want plugins, it's the first place to look. For 1.20.1 Forge packs, weigh Arclight against MohistMC. If you only want mods, a plain Forge, NeoForge or Fabric server will always carry less risk.
Arclight is powerful, not magic, and some friction is unavoidable where two ecosystems meet. The most common issue is that plugins are written with only vanilla blocks and items in mind, so a protection plugin that doesn't recognize modded blocks may miss someone tampering with a machine. The fake players that mod machines use can also trigger surprising permission errors in claim and anti-grief plugins, which is why Arclight's FAQ notes that plugins like AuthMe need extra configuration.
Arclight's known-incompatibility list includes names like WorldEdit and ItemPhysic, flagged as needing updates. A practical rule: for tools that edit the world directly, consider the mod version first (WorldEdit's mod build, for example) and only then try the plugin.
Add plugins one at a time. After each new plugin, restart, check the console for errors and test the basics in-game. Plugins that depend on Paper-only APIs won't load on Arclight, so if a plugin page says it requires Paper, look for a Spigot-compatible alternative before installing.
We recommend at least 6 GB for Arclight, because the server keeps the mod loader, the Bukkit layer and each plugin's data in memory at once. A group of 2–5 players with about 50 mods and ten or so core plugins is comfortable on Silver 6GB. Packs of 80–150 mods with 15–20 plugins are healthier on 8–10 GB. If you're combining big NeoForge 1.21.1 packs with plugins, start at 12–16 GB.
It's a good habit to start one tier above what a plain modded server would need. Every block break, chat message and inventory click passes through event listeners on both the mod side and the plugin side, so more plugins mean more work per tick.
On the CPU side, Minecraft's main thread still decides everything. If things feel sluggish, install spark as a plugin or a mod and run /spark profiler; the report shows whether time is going into mod logic or into a plugin's event handler.
Configuration on Arclight spans several layers. server.properties holds vanilla settings, bukkit.yml and spigot.yml cover the Bukkit side, and arclight.conf keeps the hybrid compatibility settings. Mod settings live in the config folder, while each plugin has its own folder under plugins, usually with a config.yml.
When planning permissions, know this detail: plugin command permissions are handled by a permissions plugin like LuckPerms, while mod commands often just check the vanilla op level. So decide which mod commands your moderators get through op levels, and manage plugin permissions separately through LuckPerms groups.
Updates work differently than on plain servers. Each Arclight build ships with a specific Forge, NeoForge or Fabric version, so you can't upgrade the loader on its own; you wait for a new Arclight build. If a new mod release needs a newer loader, staying on the older mod version until Arclight catches up is the safest route. Back up before every change.
Players install the client version of the modpack and connect like they would to any modded server; since plugins run entirely server-side, nothing extra is needed on the client. On a Forge- or NeoForge-based Arclight, players need the same loader version and mods, and on a Fabric-based Arclight they need Fabric Loader and the same mods. The CurseForge app, Modrinth App or Prism Launcher make that setup easy.
To join, they enter the IP:port from your panel under Multiplayer, Add Server, adding the port after a colon if it isn't 25565. If you want the server limited to your group, the vanilla whitelist commands work on Arclight too.
Plugin effects that show up on the client, such as chat formats, the tab list or GUI menus, appear without the player installing anything. Mod content, on the other hand, only displays correctly once the player has the modpack installed.
Decide which loader and Minecraft version you'll run, then check that every plugin you want supports that version and the Spigot API.
Pick a tier from the plan guide based on your mod and plugin load. Once payment clears, your Arclight server installs automatically and is managed at gamepanel.hostingmerkezi.net.
Upload your mods to the mods folder and start the server without plugins. A clean boot makes it easy to tell whether later errors come from a plugin or a mod.
Drop plugin jars into the plugins folder one at a time, restarting and checking the console after each, so you can spot the troublemaker right away.
Configure ranks with LuckPerms and regions with a claim or protection plugin, then test in-game how modded machines behave inside protected areas.
Players install the modpack and connect using the IP:port from the panel; plugins require no extra client-side installation.
